I already bought it (from the kickstarter) so yes. 99$ for a media player(xbmc 1080p resolution ) with network capability that can play game, shitty game or not, it still a good deal for me. I can't build anything for 99 $ that can do all that.

I missed the kickstarter offer so i probably wont buy it ><

From what I read, it doesn't allow the play store, which might be a deal breaker for me. Here's what I find very cool, especially since it will be able to stream steam: http://shield.nvidia.com/

I have no interest, I'm already content with my PC and the consoles I have. Also I have my phone for those android games.

It may be good as a small Android media center/server or as a magical Android box that can almost anything. But Android and gaming doesn't fit together. There are almost no games that support game controllers and I don't think that will change soon.

Look at you and your fancy HDMIs. I have a laptop and a VGA cable :V

I'm not much of console player, only consoles I have are the Dreamcast and the Wii. Might still end up buying this when it's released. Waiting to see how it fares. Could be a decent media player with the ability to play games on it.

Of course! Cheap media player that can play some nice indie games and can also emulate older consoles? SOLD.

+1
XMBC + indie games + Emulators + Android for 99 dollars = SOLD.

cheap PS1/Nintendo 64 emulator= a dream come true.

How are the N64 emulators on Android? Never tried them, this seems to squeeze a bit more juice out of the Tegra3 so maybe it will perform even better.

I saw a video of one of the early buyers running their flash game on it and it lagged.... not sure if this will be any good for emulators.
Comment has been collapsed.
That is because flash games randomly lag even on the beefiest pcs.
You can see a video of Ouya playing Nintendo64 games here

True...Flash is hell on some games and my computer isn't weak..

I'm hoping 360 wireless controllers work well personally....but not sure.

Nope. Who wants to play those basic phone games on TV? It'll have it's little fad but it'll fail.
Comment has been collapsed.
Except there is a quite a lot of exclusive games already announced that are not "basic phone games".

That might be possible, pretty sure they are making one for android.

Sadly, there is no emulators of 3DS. Not a single one. Even for pc :/. Would love that there was one, would love to finally play Virtues Last Reward.

Really, I just googgled it real quick to see, maybe its a fake?

Really nice media player, mainly used on TV's, best one I ever used.
Comment has been collapsed.
To be honest maybe. But only as a media center or anything else.
As a console, definitely not.
Also, I don't think it will be much of a console. And it is quite normal, since its target is casual gamers, not PC/PS3/XBOX360 gamers.
Sure, it will most likely get support from enthusiasts/geeks etc. (me included) but not for being a console but for the fact that it will be modable and easily customizable.
Unfortunately, there are companies that oppose the idea of an 'open' console, like Sony, EA and Activision. I just hope they won't be able to do anything about it.

No, I rarely play the games on my phone already and don't think playing them on a bigger screen would help much. It has mediocre specs and no amount of exclusives will change the fact that these games are developed for what is essentially a mobile device that is a poor replacement for a full-fledged PC or high end tablet. They'll have a market, just as the Wii did when it initially came out, and after an initial peak around some holiday, sales will more than likely flat line. Then after a few years of declining sales, after the next generation of consoles and more powerful mobile devices, with built in HDMI out (already on the newer batch of phones), it will die a slow agonizing death...

If this does 25% as well as the Wii did it would be a smash hit, that system sold by the boat load...
Also thats sorta what happens with any system, I don't get the point you're making totally, yeah system get old and then fade away when new ones comes out, thats pretty normal...

Not saying it will sell like the Wii - was more a statement likening the Ouya user base (once it launches) to those Wii owners after the first year - almost NONE of my friends were even looking at their Wiis after the first year - and yes, that sounds weird. Also, within a year of release the new generation of consoles may be out, putting even more of a dampener on sales of this thing and once the sales numbers drop, so do the developers... So my point is they may be lucky to get one year of good sales, but shortly after it will go the way of the doodoo - er, I meant dodo...
EDIT: However, I'll bet that modders and others that did not buy it to play Android games on will be using it for years after...
EDIT 2: I'd rather buy the Steam console if it ever comes to market, but who knows - I've owned almost every console ever made after Colecovision and I think that I may skip the next round of consoles and stick to my PC unless there are more numerous and more compelling console exclusives than there have been thus far.

I might skip the main 3 this time around also, but I own a Wii(Got it a week after it came out) and still play it a lot honestly, I see what you are saying, I am still going to pick this up, I don't have much to lose since its only 100 bucks(Probably gonna split that cost with a friend I am living with haha, so 50 :-P).
I think its mainly aimed at indie devs and this is nice for them, I don't think every dev will drop support based on the crazy rules that the bigger consoles set on indie releases. But who knows, if it bombs hard game wise thats fine also, I got myself a little tinker box/media center for a pretty low price still. I mean look at Boxee, thats crappy and cost more(Its broken XBMC basically).
