Which theme would you like to see for February?
I am glad you did :)
I took a look at Franky Lettuce and I don't see how it would fit sorry, hopefully someone else sees something I don't.

100% complete after 8.5 hours. I probably spent 3 of those on the stupid Steedrun achievement. Getting through the 5th level without dying was the biggest pain-in-the-@$$ I've had to contend with in a looooong time. I had all the other levels down to a science by the time I finally finished it. :P

Hey, I would love to approve your playtime for the game and send you the giveaway links but I need you to put your playtime data to public first the the website can pick it up and log it (after that it can go back to private). Sorry for the inconvenience.
If you don't know how to change that you can find the instructions in the second paragraph here.

Thank you!
Congrats on beating a win for January is a "play a game you won on Steamgifts" month, you can request to join the group here if you want. Giveaways are available on the website (and I will send them to you privately in a minute as well since you are not on the website).

I think I'm getting a little obsessed with those monthly events here, for 2 months now I'm only playing what I can fit into it.
Here is a little dilemma:
First I have a brother who is younger than me(16y), and because we have only this laptop so we share it for gaming (when he is on the school breaks, one will start after a week)... we use the same account Steam / Uplay / Origin
When he started gaming 5 years ago it was coop/mp games splinter cell, payday, BF.. but last year he started to have interest in single player games
Dishonored Death of the Outsider the time and achievements I had before this month was actually his, also RoTR around 200hrs all his he is even done with almost all its achievos despite him being not really big on achievements (lucky him)
Long story short I'm considering playing it and obviously adding it to the month, campaign would take 30hrs I don't know.. also I want to 100% it (mostly coop achievos left)
Thoughts ?

Play away as long as it is not 100% done it should be eligible. Just note the time and number of achievements before the event on the web page :)
In order to not have something like this happen in the future, why do you not make your brother his own steam account and then family share the games he is interested in playing. This way he can earn his own achievements and as far as I understand it they should not count as yours ;)
Comment has been collapsed.
The family sharing idea did cross my mind, it is just as I said it started with MP/coop game so honestly the help with those was very appreciated... but since he starting to pick interest in SP games I might consider family sharing.
Well that takes care of my first dilemma here, now I would like to discuss the other one in private with you or Mouse if you have the time.

Agreed with what Samwise said, as long as you mark what is already played before on the website it is all good. Another idea if you would like to actually earn all the achievements yourself would be to lock them back up using SAM, but there is no way to actually reset the playtime.

I'm sad. Don't know why (well, I know why — I hoped for better results and wanted to find ppl for whitelist, or maybe blacklist, I'm mean sometimes, won't lie), but I checked about 20 of my GAs that I did a year ago. Only one game was played. And those were good games, games that I care about, and some even unbundled. I know that's why we have special groups and this amazing event for those who plays, but it still upset me :( Like, what the point? I can just discard keys I don't want from bundles I buy and it will be the same. Ah, don't mind me, looks like it's '1 year on sg' crisis.
edit: maybe instead i should've waited 5 years, but I'm not gonna do it again, not anymore

Don't be sad :(
I have some games won over 1 year ago that I have not played yet. Some did not fit a theme yet or I had to many games that fit that theme + most of them are super long ones. Does that mean I won't ever play them?
Nope. It just means it takes time. Also I think your chances of games getting played is bigger here or in PA then when doing general GAs.
And if you just discard the keys there is no chance of someone playing them. Here there is at least a small chance ;)
Comment has been collapsed.
yep, I guess in some cases 1 year is too harsh after all.. But I won't check what games those winners played this year, don't want to find out it was Dota 2 XD
there is at least a small chance
true, true. If my glass wasn't half empty today, I would think 1 from 20 is actually veeeeery good :) And it was 100%! Haha
Also, there is a hypocrite side in my sadness: I myself buy games on steam and don't play them for a long time hoping that I will play someday. And somewhere sad developers are sitting..
Comment has been collapsed.
+1 I did that look back with the same results :(
Since I know this sadness, I'll use this as motivation to play more of my wins. Thanks for your honesty ^^

If you want more positivity I would humbly ask you to have a look at my played wins :)
Noone take this the wrong way please ;)
Comment has been collapsed.
I guess I'm a culprit here. At first I was so happy about winning something that I joined everything with a good chance of winning and did a lot of puzzles to win games where I then hadn't the time to play because I did puzzles in the available time. 😅
I always try to add some older wins or wins from users where I won a lot to the themes. But some games which would take a long time to beat usually don't make it from the short list to the actual play list because in the same time I could beat a bunch of shorter games.
Also I never know how to define if a game is beaten for games with no achievements and no really end like Ludo Supremo which I won over 2 years ago.
Found a win from you which fits this months theme =)
Comment has been collapsed.
games that are endless are beaten when you feel like you have seen/done all that you want from it ;)
And that's where I have difficulties to choose and therefore prefer to play games with achievements or a predictable end.
Like Ludo Supremo for example, what would it be there? Win one game? Play a game with every constellation (Human, Human or Human, System or Human, Human, System ...) and once loose and once win in this constellation? ;)
Comment has been collapsed.
because I did puzzles in the available time
yeah, that's why I stopped solving jigidis and complicated puzzles :)
Actually, I can find arguments for both sides:
— Definition of 'good' game is just different for you & winner.
— But it's still sad that decent game became +1.
— But what if a person was genuinely pleased when he won that game? Minute of happiness matters too.
— And they even didn't say thanks?
— They just shy.
and so on xD
So don't you worry, if you play your wins in general, you definitely not a culprit :) If I were very stubborn, I might want to check all their wins and find out that they at least play something. Or maybe even a lot, just not mine lol, like you or samwise or many ppl at this event — but I better just imagine it xD

after reading this i decided to check someone. well dude didnt have a win so had to find someone else. next had 6 but i wanted a more reasonable number. 3rd time was the charm though and well you might kill yourself with the number i got
just dont touch randoms they will stain your soul forever

This is my first month doing this and I'm going to play Jotun: Valhalla Edition, which is tagged as Difficult on Steam.

While that is actually a really good idea, I like it, I am a bit afraid how the logistic of it would work on the website. Maybe pick the theme of one theme from the drop down menu and write the theme from the other one in the notes box?
Comment has been collapsed.
Yea having 162 things to choose from a dropdown list might be a little bit overkill ;)
Comment has been collapsed.
Downloading takes a lot less effort (and time, depending on your internet connection and size of the games) than making 2 lists of possible games to play :P
Comment has been collapsed.
Well the downloading part is because I download games at work since we have fast internet there (it's a data center after all) and I do not have that fast internet at home. So rather than spending hours downloading in two weeks I already did it.
But why did you download them already? Well I will be in training for the next week so no time to download them before February starts.
So no, not crazy. Just saving time :P

I took a look at which games would fit the potential themes for next month and, well, all my unfinished wins apparently fit both themes lol. I voted for Leap Year though because that's an opportunity you only get every 4 years, but it's not like it matters to me which one wins. :o

You got the achievements on Sunday afternoon for me and last time I updated or checked the playtime was Sunday morning so a little bit of patience, especially since it has been less than 24 hours when you wrote your comment.
Comment has been collapsed.
It is done automatically when I tell the system to do it which is about once a day. Anyways, I did tell it to do it now and it got your new achievements but something doesn't add up to me. Your last 5 achievements from yesterday have all been unlocked at the same time so I checked if the achievements are supposed to unlock when you quit the game and that is not the case here. So I also went to check your statistics for the game and compared it to other peoples who play the game and they do not add up to what they seem that they should be comparing it to other people. Do you have any explanation for that?
Comment has been collapsed.
In case you mean the multiple achievements at the same time: this also happens if you lost the internet/Steam connection while playing. Steam logs what you did but the request to add will use the datetime when the connection to Steam is re-established
Comment has been collapsed.
I know, but that is sadly not something I can check unless someone specifically tells me they did that like they now did bellow.
Comment has been collapsed.
Ok, please do and I will approve it. You can either add the links here or on the website or just tell me to check your Steam profile when you uploaded them, either option works.

Hey I have a question that I couldn't find an answer for it on FAQ page. I'm playing Terraria this month but couldn't beat the game yet because it's quite time consuming (already played 90+ hours) and a bit challenging for me. I've already defeated a few bosses and changed the world to hardmode but there are still some bosses to kill to beat the game. Can I submit my play time for this event and keep playing in another event?
Comment has been collapsed.
It is actually kinda covered in the FAQ under the Can I submit a game I have played before the start of the month? section for submitting it for the future months. But yea you can do that no problem as long as the game fits the theme for the months in question :)
Comment has been collapsed.
You can submit it if you want, there is nothing wrong with that, but it just wont get counted in the total hours and only the ones with the status beaten/completed do.
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm curious what people votes here are based on, for example I vote what I can fit most games into
But then again I usually take care of my wins asap so most of the time I'm free to play from my backlog
Comment has been collapsed.
I prefer a theme that is... a theme around something. Like having certain tags kind of define games and paint a picture in your mind, and I like that (Like how In Love and War could mean strategy, wargames, visual novels, romance games, etc).
At the same time I like some extra, fun meta things - won on X day, messing with the game ID - but if these add the main aspect then it's a bit like getting socks for your birthday as a kid. It works, it's useful, but just not the real thing.
I'm more hyped about playing a game about oceans, love and war, wall climbing, being atmospheric, going fast or other topic than about that I can play any wins that for example has an odd store ID. It still works to have many acceptable games, but has only substance without the style. I like style :)
Comment has been collapsed.
Seems like people finally decided which one they want at least.
Comment has been collapsed.
This is a really tough choice. I like both top themes equally 😅. I'll make my vote.
Comment has been collapsed.
Since this theme has been tied for most of the month I will say this: you have till 20:00(UTC+1) to change your mind on the your vote if you are unsure on it. Whatever is winning at that time will be picked for next months theme.
