Yes, it is important. I give games rarely since I don't have much money. And when someone just takes them without a word (in that case, without even a bump on the thread before), I blacklist them. Blacklist is not a big deal in the end, right? Just like thanks :)))))

Totally important!!! I support that ideology (better known as common sense)

I saying thx if i win smth, idk if its important but its minimal that u can do for it. Its okay. But by point of view its not case to blacklisting. (blacklisting isnt important here, here is so much blacklisting without reason so its completly okay.)

+1 not saying thanks is the #1 reason for getting on my blacklist!
If you're on the street and you see a beggar/musician/human statue and you give him money and he just ignores you, how would you react/feel? Just because it's on the internet doesn't mean the simpelest of all courtesy rules don't apply all of a sudden!
I was taught by my parents to say thank you when somebody gave something to me, be it a gift or a slice of meat at the butchers. So guess what I'm thinking about all these people who don't say thanks...

One particularly sad thing is that I have been complimented in my grandmother's church because I say thank you when appropriate. I shouldn't be complimented on something so simple. If I am, that means that many people aren't doing it (which they have confirmed), and that's really depressing.

Yes it's important. It's the least they can do when they get a game for free. You already don't have to do anything for the game (except maybe if it was hidden in a puzzle or something), so taking ten seconds of your time to thank the person that gave it to you is not that hard to do.

That's actually a huge problem. Think of the people that are actively trading. There are people that -rep traders for no reason at all and there's no way to remove the negative feedback. :/
Comment has been collapsed.
Thing is that people will see a -rep comment. What if you were an active trader and people would stop trusting you because of that? Every trader's living in fear because of this shit.
Comment has been collapsed.
You have 2 -rep though, so you mean that one of them isn't fake? :P

It makes me a bit edgy, though nothing I'd lose sleep over.
Here's an idea I've daydreamed about: a weighted number for your trade feedback that takes into account who feedback comes from. Right now every positive feedback is +1 and every negative is -1. My idea is to give each user a number that would determine how much their feedback counts. Do you have no trade experience, low feedback numbers, or a very new account? Then your feedback counts fairly little. Do you have lots of good feedback? Then your ratings count a lot.
What do you think? Would that be an improvement?

That would be a bit unfair.
A new trader gets scammed, his feedback doesn't matter.
An experienced trader gets offended, his feedback matters so he starts -rep people that offeded him.

You might be right. I wonder if there isn't something workable in the vicinity of this idea though...
My thought was mostly this: unfair feedback is often reciprocated. People are therefore least likely to give it if they have more too loose (a good established reputation, say), and people who do give it are likely to have a blotchy trade record themselves. Have you often seen experienced traders with great records be petty like that? I feel like it doesn't happen very often.

Cant you get it taken down as it isnt valid tradefeedback

I mean what is to stop you from going onto his and leaving negative feedback too now, and it looks like he does trade sometimes
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, you can report it as I did, but it takes about a year before they get to it as the support ticket line is way too long.

Currently there is a scammer roaming the trade section and adding people. Anyone who accepts his invite gets a negative rep. My steam profile has also been marked by him offering me a game. I await my destiny.

I got a guy commenting on my profile, giving me minus rep and stuff a few weeks back because he didn't like the fact that I'd excluded him from my event even though he was actively horrible and had ruined multiple previous events. So yeah, I feel your pain.

then get my WL in return (i currently do a a few birthday ga, check them)

nah, it you i talk about, i often WL those who give way more game than win, beside. good game that you pick to give, pretty close to my taste too

The Guidelines are pretty clear:
Trade feedback should only be used to describe your personal trading experience with a user. It should not be used (i) to post negative comments when you disagree with someone's offer, (ii) for revenge or retaliation when someone leaves you negative feedback, or (iii) for unrelated comments or trading experiences not directly involving you.
Report him and try to get the feedback removed. If he keeps doing it, in theory he'll be permabanned eventually.

Blacllisting someone for not getting a thanks for a shared game is totally okay. It's your own blacklist and you can individually decide who and why to blacklist!
I would report him due to Misleading Trade Feedback. Sadly this will just lead to a 5 days ban.

Oh c'mon, this must be a prank or some social experiment, it can't be real :|

Ha thought you may be from Estonia before checking profile but close enough :D

I love the wierd reasons users blacklist on this site. This one must be top 5.
I got blacklisted not long ago because a user asked for help. I looked up the answer and posted search results that included about 16 threads about the subject. Noticed I got blacklisted and the reason was because I didnt directly answered him mysef.

well... since u dont trade then it's fine ... right?

She might always decide to trade later on. And with (0,-1) it will be an issue. More so, if she blacklists somebody who also leaves fake rep for it (this guy isn't the only one).

Well now that jerk and rule breaker (misuse of trade feedback) got blacklist from me too, and I'm sure will get blacklists from some other people who read your thread. And if you report him he will get banned as well.
Support > Create a new Ticket
Category: User Report
Reason: Misuse of trade feedback
While most support tickets take long to resolve, or never get resolved I think the ones for misuse of giveaway and trade feedback usually get resolved relatively quickly, within a day or two.

Nah. Those take years XD

ill just wait... if my ticket is still pending after 1-3 years might is well open a thread complaining about staff shortage xD
we technically have over 50+++ that are trust worthy and capable of handling something simple is support tickets.
then we have like around 6 active ( just active ) staff that maintain a website used by around 600k users a month...

I commented in an old GA of the user, mentioning they did break the rules.
I don't think support done anything, as the user is not suspended.
Often commenting is quicker than reports ;)
Comment has been collapsed.
I can agree on that, but with support being over-worked that might take quite long.
The user still has left some negative feedback on at least one other user's profile here, as mentioned somewhere above.

I agree - the negative feedback sucks.
However, I think it is really not very easy to please blacklisters.
I myself always thank when I won but I am never sure if it will be good enough for the GA giver. All this BL thing is really ridiculous for me. That's why i use only whitelist.

some people are idiots. I'm glad your problem was dealt with so quickly, though.

So I blacklisted this guy who didn't thank me after receiving the gift from my giveaway. And couple of days later he gave me -1 trade feedback here on SG with the comment "blacklist". I don't really care since I don't trade but...why. It's not even related...some people's reasoning is floating out there somewhere, I guess.
EDIT: It seems to be all good now. I'm surprised it was this fast :o Thank you all for making SG a bit better by reporting the guy :)
EDIT Nr. 2: It seems he just deleted it himself since someone commented about his rule breaking in his old GA. Avoiding fire, I guess.
