If you create a giveaway that is public with no restrictions, you only need 1 entry to get CV. If the giveaway is invite only, group, whitelist, or region restricted, you must have at least 5 entries to get CV. The number of copies you give away in a single giveaway does not matter, the requirement is still 5 entries total to get CV.

To clarify, in the above example with 3 copies:

Public: Each entry that corresponds to a copy will give CV, and you keep the leftover copies (if less than three entries total)
Non-public: If less than 5 entries, you always get 0 CV, and you keep the leftover copies (if less than three entries total). If 5 entries or more, you gain CV for all (three) copies.

If you are in doubt whether you can reach the 5 entry limit, the safe option is always to make it public (level restrictions are accepted).
