So, I got curious, what browsers do you gamers use? There was already a poll about this, but it was almost two years ago, so I decided to make a new one, because why not. So, if you have a moment (and you entered this topic, so I hope you have it) - please vote. If your favorite browser is not in the list - vote for "Other" and please comment what you use. Of course if you want to share your thoughts about your choice - I will be glad to read it too.
Thank you for your attention, here is a giveaway for you.

What browser you use as your main on desktop?

View Results
Chrome (this includes Chromium)
Firefox (this includes ESR and Dev Edition)
Internet Explorer
Edge
Opera (modern Chromium-based)
Opera (Presto)
Vivaldi
SRWare Iron
Brave
Yandex (I really hope you are from Russia at least)
Palemoon (or Basilisk)
SeaMonkey
Safari
UC Browser
Maxthon
Waterfox
Other (Chromium-based)
Other (not Chromium-based)
Steam built-in browser (as a main? really?)

I personally use Chrome. I know there's a bunch of other browsers that are considered more user friendly and privacy conscious but it's what I'm used to. I've used Chrome for several years now but before that I used Firefox. It's hard to switch, especially when all of my bookmarks are on Chrome, and honestly they just made it super convenient to use Chrome compared to other browsers.

I voted Brave, to promote it. But I use Opera (modern) and Brave equally. And Chromium for work.

Also voted Brave, to promote it. But I'm using Old Opera, Firefox, and Brave, and for some things Chrome as well.

lol for Yandex :D (i've used it, tho. also plenty of other Yandex stuff: very good, imo)

all the Chrome flavors, here: stable beta dev and Canary. one of those i've really enjoyed a ton has been Maxthon, it was MyIE, iirc ...but was ages ago, then Firefox, obv. but since Chrome came out always used it as main browser (also very Google-dependent , here)

I picked Chrome, since it's my main on most devices.

For some reason Netflix doesn't work well on Chrome, so we need to use firefox as well.
Then I use Vivaldi on my desktop for freebies/offers etc.
Firefox dev build set up to automatically remove cache/cookies on close for testing purposes.

I've used opera, iron and maxthon before, but have stopped using them either due to speed degradation or breaking bugs/security vulnerabilities.

I honestly don't put effort into researching the browsers anymore, I enjoy having multiple to switch for different purposes anyway, also helps with testing and in cases of shitty websites

I voted Chrome, but he became my main only after Firefox upgrade, kinda weird since upgrade was what got many people to switch from Chrome to FF, but I don't know, for me it didn't really work best, and I switched to Chrome, now it improved, they fixed whatever was causing problem I had, so I have both installed, I use FF for emails and few other things, but everything else Chrome, got used to it.

I have both Firefox and Google Chrome installed, but pretty much only use Firefox. It's the best browser in my opinion, if you disable automatic updates.

Brave the best of everything in one browser if you ask me it doesn't take all my ram you can use chrome extensions and have a build in adbloker :D
The Brave Browser is a safer and faster Chrome alternative

Didn't even know Yandex had a browser. Over here their company's known for near-scamming behaviour with their taxi service taking more money than it had to and also charging you small amounts at random points.

I use Opera as main browser, it has a comfortable main page. But for work Chrome is best, especially when you need couple accounts. And UC Browser on my phone ^_^

My main browser is Firefox 64 with NoScript, Adblock Plus and Windscribe (actually 3 different instances/profiles). I also use Chrome without any plugins for some browser games, that perform better on it, and for some pages, that do not display correctly on Firefox with my setup even if those plugins are supposedly disabled for them.

I used to use it because it was the last fortress of sanity when every other browser turned into Chrome. But then they adamantly refused to include some basic functionality needed to watch videos online, so sadly I had to switch from having 3 rows of tabs to having 3 browsers open and using Chrome because all alternatives seem equally shitty.

Ah, so that is why I switched to Chromium to watch my online classes what feels like a very long time ago... I wonder whether Pale Moon can play those videos now.

Based on that I would say no, but Basilisk seems like it might.

Edit: tested it and I can install TabMix+ to get 3 rows of tabs but I can't switch the tabs to be where they should always be, below the address bar.

Going by the timing, v29 should be around the corner. I do wonder what will change once it releases.

WebExtensions support still seems to be planned for never, though, which means e.g. no Augmented Steam. It's a hard world.

Many Steam related extensions only being available for Chrome was another reason I had to run it for videos and Steam when using PM. Slowly it just became easier to switch to it completely. And looks like the future of PM/B doesn't look that bright now either. :(

How hard is it to provide a customizable UI where you can put elements where you want? Firefox pretended people were super interested in speech bubbles coming from the tabs to show some useless information so they removed the option to put tabs below. Nobody has spoken of that feature ever since so GG.

I know, right? I've had my tabs as a tree for what, probably over a decade now. How someone can manage ten tabs without something like that is a mystery to me. :D At least Pale Moon has a working extension for that...

I really wish trees would work for me, but they do nothing but make it even less useful when you first have to select a tree and then find something inside there instead of just clicking the tab, so it's 2 actions vs 1. Same horrible unusability as combining taskbar items on Windows. :)

Please add Ecosia (it's a browser where you help plant trees. For about every 45 searches on average one tree is being planted and Ecosia has planted already way over 75.000.000 trees!

Chrome for the most part because for some reason it works smoother for me but I have Firefox installed and use it for certain things. Want to do a full switch some day but I find it hard getting used to some of the QoL features that I use often and can't find good plugins for in FF.
