It should by the way be noted that many cables are sold as LED, but they are in reality chasing EL cables (or just EL cables). So eh, don't overpay because someone mislabels something as LED when it's not. Still don't know what kind of cable you actually want, so can't help you more than that.

That was the needed information, what type of cable you were looking for. Chasing EL cables have been around since long before the USB standard was introduced (since at least the 70's, though quite possibly earlier than that).
I can't give you a recommended brand, but don't buy the lowest of the low end, but also keep in mind that EL cables have a limited lifespan, so don't buy one of those super expensive ones either. In reality, these things are relatively cheap to produce, so if you're spending $15 on one, you're overpaying. Around $10 should be the right price range. And be prepared to have to replace them after a while, that's just the nature of the technology being used. And again, keep in mind that these are not using LED technology, despite what many manufacturers claim.
