Bonus tip: if you own a base version of a game, and download the complete version with Access, you'll be able to play the dlc even after the month is over. For example, if own Dragon Age Inquisition (base game only), and download the Digital Deluxe edition (included in Access), you can just start the game through the base game in your library after the trial is over and all dlc will still be there. Obviously, if you uninstall the game, you lose the dlc. Unless you back up the files or something. Also, if you do this, the game will ask for an update after the month ends. Don't update it. It will just delete the dlcs.

This should work with any game. Access includes the Deluxe Edition of ME 2, which has all the dlc. It also has the Deluxe Edition of ME 3, but you need to own at least the base game to be able to continue playing it after the trial is over.
Edit: deluxe edition sucks. But it should work the same.

is it possible to disable updates for specific games?

Origin will ask you to update the game once the trial is over and you try to play the base game. Just choose "no".

its true , i tried that but the problem is that you have to download the game before it ends or you cant play them after :p

This may seem obvious, but I'm not quite sure. I have Dragon Age Origins Standard, now I wanted to see which DLC were included in Access and it automatically updated to Dragon Age Ultimate Edition (in my library, I didn't install it yet). Furthermore, there is a "NEW" label on the game, though Dragon Age is in fact the first and oldest game of my library. Do you think that if I install this edition, it will last after my expiration of Access as long as I don't accept any update? Thanks in advance

Hmmm.. I had a look at their catalog, and cant find anything I actually want to play.
Unravel 2 wont install on my PC, so that's not an option. A way out is something I played when I got the trial of Origin Access.
Anthem, BF games are boring and not interesting to me at all.
Maybe I would consider trying out Plants vs Zombies 2 : Garden warfare ? Does anyone think its a dead game or had a good playerbase in Australia?
I guess I am just not used to EA games anymore. I probably would have purchased them if they were on steam due to habit, but I cant even remember when I fired up my Origin client last.

What about the first Unravel or Fe? I'm not really into their mainstream games anymore either as it's largely just online multiplayer stuff which they seem to love to bastardize with things like microtransactions and loot boxes, but a few of their titles that are more reminiscent of what you would might see from an indie game look like they could be interesting.
never heard of Sea of Solitude until just now but from the screenshots it looks like it could be interesting, though it's not part of Access Basic anyway.
not sure what happened to it but didn't they used to have Gatling Gears?

Both Fe and Sea of Solitude are form over substance. Good art styles, but not enough gameplay to make it worth it.
Unravel 1 is just single player unfortunately. I already have way too many single player games on backlog to make it worthwhile installing the origin client. Especially since I cant even see a single player game I actually would like to play from EA. Besides I intend to get the Playstation Now on my my PC and finally play God of War, which they just added for 3 months to the service. I have never owned a PS, and probably never will, so this is my only chance to play the game everyone raves about.
As for their shooters, I prefer counter strike. They would have to make something truly amazing and not heavily monetized for me to even consider trying their games.

It wouldn't be worth it to you even though it's free?

Money isnt really an issue for me. Time is. I don't mind paying for games I like. But between working full time and studying at same time, I barely have any time to myself. Most of the time goes to Deep Rock Galactic or Counter Strike with friends. For me to tell my friends that I just want to play solo, the game really does have to be worth it.

You mean , activate two factor before end of October, after that, anyone activate it on First November, Origin Access won't get free a month right?
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh thanks, i already activated two factor yesterday, now i'm just waiting

The free month is November guys, not October. The official help page for the free month and 2fa : https://help.ea.com/en/help/account/login-verification-and-origin-access/

If you already have Premium your, free month will also be premium.

Thank you for the info, I would have totally missed it otherwise! :D
Curious to try a couple games, like Unravel and Fe.

Yep, you should get the month in Nov 1st or first few days of it.

When I already have Origin Access for say 12 months, will this add 1 month on top of it?

"You'll need to turn it on before the end of October. The free month will begin on or about November 1 (it might take a few days for the wheels to start turning) as long as you've got 2FA enabled on Origin before the end of October. If you're already an Origin Access Basic subscriber, you won't be billed for November, and if you're an Access Premier subscriber you'll get a free month of that instead. And if you've already got 2FA enabled? Free month for you too."
Pretty great stuff. A Way Out, Anthem, bunch of Need For Speed games, Mirror's Edge Catalyst, Vampyr are just a few of the good titles in there. For people wondering, here are the differences between Access Basic and Premiere:
What you get with EA Origin Basic ($3.99 per month or $24.99 per year)
What you get with EA Origin Premiere ($14.99 per month or $99.99 per year)
So, Basic has what matters, which is all the games. Here's the full list.
