Predict the outcome of this imaginary Harambe vs. Drümpf face-off
So, what is the purpose of the appendant (?usp=sf_link) on the end of the Google Forms link?
Comment has been collapsed.
If you're referring to the SkyTracers Form link, I didn't create that form & logging in is mandatory to apply there. Also, I found out about that game from a different SteamGifts Supercloudbuilt GA.

If you don't know exactly what the appendant is, the safest thing would be to leave it off.
Using https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdatdStRHkWv6qLvcxtAsGiu_0BjStimD4r8CtXykkOToGTiQ/viewform works just fine. If you haven't already figured it out, certain types of links are strictly prohibited on this site.

From now on as a general rule of thumb, I'm gonna remove anything after the "?" from any links that I post.
Edit:- Replying to Khalaq's comment below: I meant including the "?" as well, just that my hands typed things a little different from what was in my mind.

I don't know HTML, but the question mark would seem to signify a variable being called. You can probably drop it, as well.
Comment has been collapsed.
You can eliminate the question mark - it's just a separator indicating everything after it is part of the query string. If there's nothing after it, there's no need for the separator.
The "usp=fs_link" parameter is harmless. It indicates a user submitted post used the form submission type of link. When you create a form, the last step is sharing it, and you get the following options:
Each way of sharing the form gives Google a way of telling how you heard about the link. You could take the link option's URL and embed it in email or post it on Twitter, but then it's just tracked as a link. Using the direct approach (or manually editing the usp code to something like "embed_facebook") lets you find out what method of sharing a form got the most submissions.

I think you can mention that FACEIT is doing a giveaway, but I'm pretty sure linking to that gleam page is against the rules. It is covered in the "general" part of the guidelines where it says "When posting links".
Comment has been collapsed.
Thanx! 🖖🏼
The glean link is removed now but what referral link are you referring to? 🤔
Comment has been collapsed.
I saw your response. It was not the actual answer as the riddle isn't a mathematical one.
I guess the "⭐" made it look like a multiplication problem, I've changed it to "❓" as they were supposed to signify the missing number(s) of the sequence.

Whitelisted you since you're interested in the game itself.

Hi Alex, Andy's fine cause the Major's gonna get replaced real soon.
Nightmare fuel‽ TBH, I find them quite alluring. LOL
PS: Sorry for the late reply
Comment has been collapsed.
I see you also like interrobangs. I approve of that. Welcome! :D
I've never played Wasteland 2 (neither do I own it), so I can't apply for your whitelist. Maybe next time.
You wanted to know about WL/BL criteria, right? Generally speaking, I whitelist people who I deem to be nice, and sometimes also exceptionally for specific GAs. I blacklist only very exceptionally, when I deem someone to be an absolute irredeemable asshole; I can count the number of people I've blacklisted in the fingers of one hand.
Comment has been collapsed.
Whitelisted you for.. ... let' say our shared love of the interrobang‽
You got some good criteria choices. (Is that last phrase even grammatically correct? Oh, what the hey, let's chuck it. English ain't my first language.)
Comment has been collapsed.
Good reason for a WL! Returned. ;)
Uh, if you want to be really pedantic, I think the proper way would be "criterion choices" (almost nobody remembers that, but "criteria" is actually the plural of "criterion"), but I'd say nearly everyone (except perhaps language specialists) will accept "criteria choices" as proper, in large part because people also use "criteria" as singular these days. But I'm not a native speaker, either.

Oh, I see the Major was replaced with a singer from a band I don't know. Favorite band, or you just like her in particular?
And while your latest linked pic is certainly more sexy than scary, the gif in your intro post is total nightmare fuel. I don't even have a fear of clowns, and even I'm thinking, "Yikes!"
Comment has been collapsed.
She's Jennifer "Jenn" Ayache of SUPERBUS.
They aren't an all-time favorite band but one that I admire since the late 2000s. I got to know about them after I started searching for some modern French music, after listening for years to Charles Trenet, Joe Dassin, Francoise Hardy, Django Reinhardt & some others as well (not saying that I don't listen to them anymore) & SUPERBUS's sound & style interested me more than their contemporaries.
About liking Jenn in particular, I'd say yes, as being the female vocalist, ie, de facto band leader does thrust her style to the forefront WRT the other members as the outlook of the band. The band, in turn, gets an added boost in popularity due to a female presence. This phenomenon is evident from the earliest bands with female members like Janis Joplin w/ Big Brother & The Holding Co. & Grace Slick w/ Jefferson Airplane. I'm only making a neutral observation, this isn't a complaint of any sorts.
... latest linked pic is certainly more sexy than scary ...
There were two, what do you think of the other one?
I'm really sorry that you got genuinely scared by that GIF in the OP.
Comment has been collapsed.
Cool. I've always enjoyed (preferred?) bands with female singers myself.
And no worries, I quickly recovered. It was just rather a shocking surprise. I'm sure if I was someone who actually was afraid of clowns, I'd be really freaked out.
And as to the other one, it was meh. Neither scary nor sexy. I don't like jump scares, but that neither scared me nor made me jump. It was just meh. :)

Never meant it otherwise. I just don't get the general reaction of most listeners.

Thanks. Yes the golden ration will change but I'm not that concerned with numbers
I just started to win some GAs very recently, the first one was only 2 weeks ago. Looking forward to winning some more too.

I know about some users who won their first GA within one week of joining up here.

Hi 🖖🏼
"o/ " - I'm not too good with these type of emojis. What does that mean?
Comment has been collapsed.
Now, I get it. 😉
If you're using Windows 10 you could press Win+. or Win+; to open the in-line emoji keyboard (no need to look up emoji codes). It's what I use most of the time.
Comment has been collapsed.
Whitelisted, because of the newly updated clause.
PS: Your answer is currently incorrect.
Comment has been collapsed.
No, the riddle isn't a mathematical one. I added a hint in the application form itself.
But you can just apply without solving the riddle too.
This goes for anyone; but only for the current Airscape giveaway, after that solving the riddle will be mandatory for getting in the whitelist.
Comment has been collapsed.
Since you're the first person to say so, could please explain why you think it's a waste of time? I just want to know your POV, no intention of arguing with you.

LOL, sorry you had to take the scenic route to find out about what games the QR codes were encoding. Take a complimentary whitelist for your effort.
Also, if you had hovered your mouse (assuming you're on a desktop) over the QR code images they would've shown the label of the games, I have mentioned this in the OP too.

Haha, let's wait & watch till I go to 50 'Gifts Sent' & then compare notes regarding attracting the unfrateful. Thanx for your welcome greetings.

Software installation isn't necessary, you can use Online Barcode Reader.
Thanks for the giveaways!
Comment has been collapsed.
Thanx for providing the link, I didn't know about this one. It could only be used for reading the codes whereas the app I linked could be used to create basic mono-chromatic QR codes.
The link's going up in the OP.

Nice criteria, take a whitelist. Not asking for you to whitelist me back.

Now tell me, what "great" ideas did you unconsciously assimilate from this thread? 🖖🏼

I just wanted to say that particular episode of Black Mirror was great. In fact, that entire show is amazing. I still find myself thinking about some of the episodes and the dilemmas and "what if" scenarios it presents.
Comment has been collapsed.
"Black Mirror" is indeed one of the most thought-provoking shows of the day, somewhat similar to "The Twilight Zone" (IDK if it's an apt analogy or not). "San Junipero" is one of my personal favorites due to its positive depiction of LGBT romance.
The only thing that bugs me about this episode is people starting to refer "Heaven Is A Place On Earth" as the new lesbian love anthem.
I mean WTF‽ What's the need to differentiate love? I mean take any love song, say this, this or even this (with some minor lyric changes) could be used by anyone irrespective of their sexual orientation.
Comment has been collapsed.
Ah I knew it, your profile picture is the singer from Superbus :D I remember listening to their album "Pop'n'Gum" non stop back in the days. Thanks for the giveaways ;)

Hmmm. The riddle has me stumped. I did send you a friend request, however!:)

Hi there 🖖🏼 First of all, let me thank you in advance for visiting & taking the time to read my discussion thread! 👍🏼
I'm VᴅᴏGᴍʀ4ᴍCᴀʟ™ aka Andy. I have a bad tendency of hiding songs under emoticons/emojis! 📻 | 📻
I've been a member of SteamGifts for over a year now but actually started using it properly (still learning the ropes, though) for the past 3+ months. I came to know about this wonderful site as soon as I visited my Steam profile page the 1st time after installing the 'Enhanced Steam' browser extension by jshackles (too bad it's going to be discontinued after January).
{18+}So you want to know a little more about me? Well, here's a little excerpt about some trains of thought (unpolished, unfinished, unfiltered) that's gonna be included in my upcoming Steam profile edit:
... I don't want to be categorized with a label. I don't want to say I am either gender-fluid or a non-believer of gender binarism cause that'd be putting a label on myself. I like to exist in this blissful duality, that's why I'm a resident of San Junipero... ...I do often get aroused by the French language, so I guess if I have to be labeled I would be a Frenchophile (nope, it's not the same as Francophile) or since sexuality is involved, I could very well be a Francesexual, Je suis ce que Je suis! ... {18+}

I had the sense to run these GAs for 2 weeks or else they wouldn't even have seen the light of day. The last few days were so hectic with IRL activities, it took me this long to finally write this discussion thread.Trivia
moroperson's real surname would've been Schicklgruber if not for his pappy changing it in time. Just imagine the course of history if that name stuck.Giveaways (Currently listed GAs are over; will edit them out later)
Care to share what are your whitelisting & blacklisting criteria?
Here's a whitelist (& groups) GA: Airscape - The Fall of Gravity (ended on 14/09/2018, use only to check if you're in my whitelist or not) If you can't access it, here's my whitelist form (Google Forms link), the puzzle/code/riddle to solve is here. A hint/clue is posted within the form.
Decipher it & put your answer along with your SteamGifts username in the form, (I've turned off the email collection option for anyone who uses that form, so you can access it w/o logging in too). Please comment here with "Applied for whitelist" (mandatory for further communication) along with whatever else you have to say (if you want to), as I'll then have a way to communicate with you if your reply is correct or not.

The links to invite-only GAs are within the embedded QR code images below, which are labeled with the corresponding game(s) they encode. Whip out your smartphones to scan the QR codes to get the links. In case, you don't have a smartphone or prefer not to use your smartphone, here's a free software to scan QR codes from your desktop. Also, there's an online option too. Thanx to LeetPete for providing the link. DISCLAIMER: I'm in no way financially involved with them currently & don't receive any monies for sharing these links.
