Haha, that reply! q:
But yes, giving levels you up, and leveling up allows you to enter giveaways that are level restricted. Edit: also, you can find some groups to enter that have giveaways exclusive to group members. You'll usually be required to give away a few games yourself once in a while, especially if you win anything from the group.

Shit, good point. I'll edit that part out, poor support members don't need any more tickets than they already get.

Yes, by giving :)
She was ambiguous on the giving aspect. :)

I ment he commenting on your pic and your response to it...nevermind really :D

This is your best answer. Give and you will get access to level-restricted giveaways. You've only entered a little over a dozen GAs anyway. Expect nothing for a long while yet.

Enter the giveaways with the fewest entries per copy given.

You must sacrifice a lamb.
Other than that: join giveaway groups, do cool stuff and get whitelisted, and increase your level by creating giveaways.

You can subscribe to Steamgifts Platinum service. It's not a guarantee of winning, but it greatly increases your chances.
Payment can be made by paypal, directly to me. I'm the, er, financial director. I'll take care of it all for you. You're welcome :-)
DISCLAIMER: I would hope that anyone reading would be able to notice the humour, and that of course there is no platinum service, and that you should never send payment to random people. You might also have guessed that I'm not actually the financial director. I know, right! It came as a surprise to me as well. I had my business cards printed and everything.

Really. You haven't worked retail have you? You will be amazed about how low the bar can really go.

Heh - this is really old joke.. And I saw it in many sites before joining steamgifts... I gues I should treat every newcomer like someone who is new to whole internet xD
Although after reading thread quoted by Mully this joke seems to be less funny :/

Amount of people not understanding how odds work is quite staggering.

So you need four quarters to create a whole?
But what if you take small and really tiny quartes? Why you dont need lets say....six quarters to create a whole?
But since there are 10 types of people in this world, those who understand binary and those who dont, these questions like "raise my lvl" and "improve chances" will never stop coming xD

For any given giveaway, there's no way to improve your chances. Every gets a (number-of-copies)-in-(number of entrants) chance of winning.
Your chance of winning anything can be improved by entering more giveaways. If you enter 1 giveaway with 999 other people entering as well, you have a 0.1% chance; but if you enter 100 such giveaways you have a 9.5% chance of winning at least one of them.
Naturally, your chance of winning something improves if you enter giveaways with fewer other people entering. Giveaways on the forum, or hidden behind puzzles, or exclusively for higher CV levels all tend to have better odds.
The simplest thing you can do is make some giveaways of your own. If you make even 1 giveaway of your own then you get promoted to level 1 once the winner receives your game and marks it as "received" on the site. That means you'll be able to enter all the level 1+ giveaways. Just give a little more to reach level 2, where the odds are much better.
There's no obligation to make your own giveaways here, but I recommend doing so anyway if you are able.

Am I the only one who gets slightly annoyed when somebody creates a thread asking a question they could have easily answered themselves by using the search function just to log off immediatly after and most likely never return and that thread gets bumped and bumped for hours with helpful replies eventhough OP is long gone ?

You just joined. You need to give it some time. Less than 20 entries isn't that much. Some people get lucky and win on day one while some don't win for some time. It all depends on the RNG.
I haven't seen Spacecat in 3 weeks now. Been thinking that he was hit with that new travel ban ........ But I digress.....

It might take a little longer but after they haven't activated the gift for a week (because they're dead) the GA gets rerolled and Bob's your uncle.

But what if the mods who do the re-rolling were among the participants ?

I admit that could cause a problem. Maybe after we killed all the active ones we can force wbarton to come back and do the rerolling for us. Afterall he's still support, if only by title. But I don't really like that plan. I'll give it some more thought but for now let's refer to this as the Omega alternative.

Good one. Get "games for fee". That's actually a nice way to explain Steam. :D
