Is it a Telltale bundle? No. Are there Tales to Tell? Sure!

View Results
[Tier 1] 5 games for $1 and at the same time 1 title for $1. Could be worse!
[BTA] Fighting Shadows must be my Fate.
[Tier 3] My wallet will be Blacksad ;_;
[Tier 4] Usually I find some tiers I want and some that cost too much, but this bundle's Indivisible for me.
[Expensive] These are Half Past my budget, sadly.
[Have] These have been Within other bundles before, no?
[Skip] Guess my Cab won't stop here.

Indivisible at t4 makes no sense LOL

Monkey Island and Blacksad look good but I'm not sold on everything else. I've been buying way too many bundles lately, anyway.

Thinking of buying a bundle for the first time because I've had Blacksad on my wishlist for a long time

To get this right: If I pay 9.93 I will get Blacksad, Hiveswap and all the games from tier1 and tier2? I already own all those games, but thinking about either trading them away for games I want and then give a couple of them away

So I should pay 9.93eu? :)

Yep, you get blacksad, hiveswap 2, 2 batman telltale games with 2 shadow modes, 1 key for five episodes of tales of monkey island, reventure and that other game.

I bought t3 just because blacksad seem interesting.

T0

I'm semi-tempted to grab T1... but I kinda suck in point & clicky games so if those Tales of Monkey Island feature hard puzzles, I fear I'd end up being frustrated too quickly.

It's not too bad honestly. I can't get through the Deponia games yet I was able to finish tales of monkey island easily.

I tried to get T1 again as a gift to my niece. They're requesting phone number verifications. Declined one of my payments method already... Are they just blocking people from purchasing T1 now because the value is so low?

Thanks for the info. I tried to avoid that by logging onto a different account and using a different payment method. Still didn't work. Guess they log our ips? Hopefully, my payment method isn't locked cause I planned to use it to purchase the humble choice subscription deals at the end of the year.

Thanks for another chart Lilly!

I am curious, you use the term "Batman Noir" for the two Batman DLC packs... but everything else I can find lists them as "Shadows Mode". (The official bundle page, the official Telltale page, everywhere else on the internet). Is there something I am missing where they are referred to as "Batman Noir"?

Also, the chart is showing $19.99 for Tales of Monkey Island, but the price seems to have decreased to $14.99.

It's because "Batman Noir" is the actual title (it's what you get when you activate it):
For example, for app/1182000
Store: Batman - The Telltale Series Shadows Mode
API name: Batman Noir

Since this is confusing, I changed the names in the chart to the store names and I also updated the price for Tales of Monkey Island. Thanks!

Wow... They might as well call this Bundle Corgi Picks #1 πŸ˜…

3 games I almost bought at 10€+ each before they were removed (but I conquered my FOMO and now this is the reward) 2 of them even with somewhat pointless but still nice to have DLC;
2 games I was aware of and appear interesting to me (Neo Cab & Reventure);
and another one I was not aware of but looks adorable nonetheless.

BTA is a no-brainer to me.

How does Monkey Island compare to other typical Telltale games? Or is it like Puzzle Agent (loved those games) in any way?

The early Telltale games (Sam & Max Season 1 & 2, Tales of Monkey Island and I think Wallace & Gromit) were more in the vein of traditional Point & Click Adventures with inventory puzzles, moon logic and all that stuff and not interactive movies with branching stories like their later big successes.

In my personal opinion they were never particularly good at it. The most remarkable thing about them are propably the strong IPs they are based on.
Don't get me wrong they are not bad games neither but for me they never reached the quality of Lucas Arts, Daedalic or Pendulo P&C Adventures.

I haven't played Puzzle Agent yet so I can't make any comparisons there.

You proably have to see those games as a product of their time.
In late 2006 the Adventure genre was dead and buried and it would be ~ 6 more years until Pendulo and Daedelic would revitalize it so everbody was thrilled to get their Adventure fix, based on some of their favourite old franchises even if the games themselves weren't that great.

I see. I've realized that I'm not really a fan of typical point&click games since they just frustrate me. What I don't like about them is that I never feel like they're about solving a puzzle, just clicking on things in the order the game wants even if it looks completely random. It doesn't sound like Monkey Island is up my alley then even if I've liked other Telltale games.

Puzzle Agent is a lot like Professor Layton in gameplay, just interacting with things and then solving a riddle of sorts. I love the games and they're pretty short so I can recommend them if you have time to spare on a rainy afternoon.

The Professor Layton games have always intrigued me but due to being Nintendo DS exclusives I never played one. I particularly like the graphic style and they seem to have a The Adventures of Tintin sort of vibe. To be honest I don't find the art style of Puzzle Agent as appealing but if you say they have fun gameplay I might give them a go anyway since I already have both.

Yeah, I hate when Adventures have unlogical, trial & error puzzles like that and even some of the legendary ones occasionally have them. Because the very moment you have to resort to a walkthrough for the first time in an Adventure the dam is broken and you'll look stuff up as soon as you're stuck for ~ 15 minutes. At least that's how it usually works out for me.

IF you wanna give P&C Adventures another chance at some point I can recommend:
The Blackwell series
Very good story and logical, grounded puzzles
The Broken Sword Series
Also logical grounded puzzles with 1 infamous exception the goat puzzle

and my favourite Adventure of all times
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis good story, grounded puzzles, fun but challenging minigames like hot air ballooning, and incredible replayability for an adventure given the game can be approached in 3 different ways which switches up large portions of the game:

  • The Team Path (Indy brings along an old friend for a somewhat easier but still rewarding difficulty)
  • The Fists Path (more action based)
  • The Wits Path (more puzzle based)

Fate of Atlantis is probably the most challenging of those 3 (at least it was for me) but it's almost completely free of moon logic.

Yeah, the walkthrough issue is definitely a thing for me too. It's what's stopping me from finishing Baba Is You right now, the game has a nasty difficulty curve and I'd like to just be able to solve one damn puzzle without having to look up some obscure method of solving it that was never taught to you. And I feel like that extends to pretty much every point&click that I play :(

Ah, I'm late to Hesitant Point-and-Clickers' annual meeting...
It must be twenty years since I played Fate of Atlantis, but from what I recall, I liked it. More recently I've enjoyed Kathy Rain with its cool anti-heroine and pretty good dialog. But more than any p&c title, I loved Kentucky Route Zero. It is admittedly not for everyone - it is a surreal, subversive slow burn with a lot of reading. Maybe I liked it so much mostly because I despise genre tropes like inventory puzzles and meaningless choices...

Kentucky Route Zero is a game I'm entering giveaways for when they pop up since I've heard good things about it. I guess there's The Pillars of the Earth that I'm a fan of, it's been a while since I played it so I don't remember the puzzles but I have nothing bad to say about the game, it's a game that doesn't deserve the backlog treatment.

Oh, cool! Thanks for the heads-up πŸ˜‰
They seem to be hidden from the Play Store, probably because I'm using an outdated Android OS but I was planning to get a new phone soon anyway.

Edit: I checked them out on the PC now and actually I could see
LAYTON BROTHERS MYSTERY ROOM from my phone but I read it as Layton's Brother and assumed it was some sort of rip-off from a different company πŸ˜…

The Blacksad soundtrack has all tracks available in mp3, but the FLAC has just one track (both direct dl and torrent). Does anyone know if this is intentional?

Humble Support told me they're removing the FLAC version of the soundtrack. Did anyone ever have a full version?

I wish you could select what games you have and pay less, a selective bundle, that would be great no doubt. :D
