Wondering the same thing myself. I am only interested in photodirector so I had a quick look. This is last years version. The current one is ver 8. searching for comparisons between deluxe vs ultimate shows mostly ver 8 comparisons. But I did find a review of 7 that says the deluxe does NOT have layers while the ultra does. Layers are important. There are free things like Gimp that has layers. I have no idea how this software compares. I'm currently using a very old version of photoshop for editing. Content aware removal would be nice.
If your going to do anything beyond simple editing then the layers will be very useful. If not, then its a matter of is it better then the good free stuff. One thing to keep in mind is how easy is it to find good tutorials in your editor of choice if your after the more advanced methods of editing.
If you are only doing a single job then I'd just pick something free. Do the job and be done with it. If not then this might be good. I'm wondering myself.
I wonder how this is as a viewer. I'm currently using Acdsee Pro 6 that I bought years ago. Nothing I've tested is as fast even now. But its editing is minimal. I'm considering buying the current version of that as well as its a product I know and like.
Hey Humble. ... Put Acdsee in a bundle.so I can buy it. lol.
Does anyone have photodirector of any version? How does it compare to other stuff you have used?

I haven't read through any of this, but maybe you can find answers to (some of) your questions in Related articles.
EDIT: Also check the HB group on Steam. There isn't any announcements for the Software Bundle right now, but it may be easier to ask someone there.

TBH the tools that are currently on the bundle don't look that attractive to me. I have used photo director and power director as well as youcam in the past. And very frankly I didn't enjoy them. Most of these tools come preinstalled in high end laptops, with a lifetime license without upgrades and even the customers (mostly home and small business users) whom we sold similar machines to weren't quite pleased with it and asked us to remove them. There are many free open source alternatives to this and above all if you are ready to invest some money to do the stuff you said earlier I would suggest you go for a decent CC subscription instead.
All that aside, if you want something that can get stuff done with a few clicks and can offer you some advanced tools as well you may try it out. As for is it worth the price, I really don't think so. Also if you are planning to do some advanced stuff with it, some learning may be required, which would be much more helpful if you are used to or go for something mainstream like CC.

Just for reference, the following CyberLink products (among others) have been free before:
CyberLink PowerDirector 14
CyberLink PhotoDirector 7 Deluxe
CyberLink ActionDirector Ultra 2
CyberLink YouCam 6
CyberLink AudioDirector 6
CyberLink Power2Go 9 Platinum

Also, for anyone interested in paying nothing and getting both a photo editor as well as a video editor you can check the links below. I haven't used them so I have no idea how good they are but you can check them for free and decide for yourself.
Free of charge:

I think you would be better off saving your money and using open source software like:
I haven't used the CyberLink tools before so this is just from my overall perception, but they seem kind of cheesy and stuff that open source tools may be able to do better with a little more time investment put in to learn the software. That said, there may be some time-saving benefits to the CyberLink software if the tools fit your needs, but I'm usually of the opinion that established open source software with strong communities behind them are often actually more robust and better maintained and supported than low-tier consumer products aimed at the entry-level market.

the adobe series is always good, however they're expensive, take time to learn and basically need a setup all of their own to run smoothly. but if ur willing to learn it and have the cash and setup, it's p good. although i'd only get premiere pro for video editing, because p much all the other programs have cheaper and sometimes better options
i personally use corel aftershot for photography specifically, i did get actually get it in a humble bundle so it wasn't that expensive for me. but it runs a bit better then photoshop on my computer. i wouldnt know about the other programs but i tend to prefer corel, because it's a bit lighter then the adobe programs, and less likely to freeze and make me lose all my work
