I guess they sniped the giveaway as soon as it was ending, right? I can see why they would do this. If the next one is something that a lot of people want then there would probably a lot of entries and thus a smaller chance of winning. By entering at the last second they guarantee a win ... a smaller one. Also the hatred of everyone else.

This is like those trust based game shows.
