My incredibly vague memory...

I remember playing a game back in 2006.
There where 4 characters that you could play, sometimes all at once, sometimes only one at a time. Each one had a different specialty. I'm pretty sure one of them was a Princess. You where playing in 3rd person, but could scroll into 1st person.
The game had quite a deep story line, but I can't remember anything more about it. The game had an anime look to it, with scantily dressed female characters. I'm quite sure the name of the game was of Asian origin. Does anyone have any idea what game this is?

Edit: I remember you where in the Palace at one stage of the game. The palace had high towers. You went through big wooden doors to the outside of the Palace. The palace was right next to a river or the ocean. The graphics was amazing at that time! The game was a lot like Fable, you couldn't roam freely like Skyrim. Right as you exited the palace, you walked on this dirt road and fought monsters/enemies. You gained experience for each character separate.
