I must disagree with Homefront. Beginning of the story is nice but other than that. Useless. Just some cover up for a multiplayer game

dishonored? pretty average story with anticlimatic ending.

• Morrowind (total perfection on a CD)
• AVP 2 (when i was young Marine side was soooooOOO scary OMG)
• Half-Life series (many many funy moments)
• Portals (craziness :))

I know it sounds ridiculous, but i saw such comments were made from GOTY votings etc. It's just some people's opinions and perspective. I don't think it that way.

what about visual novels?

Heavy Rain. Fahrenheit to some degree. In the days of yore some FMV games were focusing om a story way too much. Basically all QTE games focus more on a story rather on a gameplay.

I wouldn't call it good story, the voice acting and setting are great however.

I have played Bioshock and can confirm it has the best storytelling of any game I have played so far, and it does so with an extremely minimal amount of cutscenes.

Bioshock will always have the best story, never played a game like that! Amazing!

The plot in this game is even better than in any known war movie, with really interesting moral choices and many ways for interpretation of the story, it's a must-play.

Yes, point-and-click is very much welcome. I enjoy these kind of games too. Console games are nice too, many are certainly qualified to be here, but then again, they're console exclusive.

I'm the opposite. I've been a HUGE fan of Monkey Island and Broken Sword since I was 12, but I've always been extremely reluctant to give The Longest Journey a try because I heard that the series ends on a cliffhanger (apparently they planned to make a final game to tie the loose ends, but they never did?). I don't want to get emotionally invested in a story and then be left without a real ending :/
