Quick question: Am I allowed to feature free unpacks in the discussions section?

That should be fine, since in a way you are using this site to giveaway games...just not in the traditional sense I guess.

I was thinking about making a SG tools protected Worms Clan Wars giveaway, entries are then legible to unpacking.

People have given away postcards and mugs before, I think anything goes.

It's allowed as far as I know, but I would be extremely cautious as even with the quality community here there are a few bad apples.

I'm not exactly sure. Unpacks/splits have traditionally been in the trades section but you're also running a giveaway. I've seen people advertise their trades in giveaways, so it would probably be fine if you put in the actual giveaway "contact me if you passed the SGTools check and want a guaranteed copy by splitting a 4-pack"?

Also I should warn you, when I last had someone open a 4 pack some moons ago they couldn't send all the gifts to my email. They sent all three but only one email showed up so I had to give them alt emails. Not sure if that still applies, but sending gifts via Steam directly might be more reliable since you don't own the game yourself.

if you're going to do this, the discussion section + a giveaway protected giveaway(SGTools) is going to be more reliable than a straight out public giveaway and asking the winner to unpack it

Help me understand here. You want to give someone a 4 pack of a game, they get one copy and send the rest back?

I done this before a lot for ppl until steam hit everyone with the Region Restrictions. I guess if your game is not ROW, you have to look for ppl in your region

You can't make giveaways for free games, yet you can gift them to people in discussion threads. So your case shouldn't be different.

I assume that should be possible.
You're not allowed to stipulate terms for normal gifts like "give me the extra keys back"
But if you find trustworthy people via a sgtools protected GA that should work.

Sure, someone's gonna end up getting a free game, so that's fine.

I don't completely sure, but if your 4-packs are ROW, you better find people from not-restricted regions, or you can end up with restricted gifts.

I'm slightly confused: why would you need someone other than yourself to unpack it?
Or maybe I'm misunderstanding the whole thing.

you should be extra careful who gets to unpack it.

after a lot of awesome support, I just have 28 4packs, down from 40, I'm actually really happy about it.

hm you can make giveaways with it. and ask the winner give the other 3 games back, also an option.

you could do giveaways for it and add some information about your problem.
perhaps it would be intelligent to add level 4 or higher on it or make it for groups with people who are able to do this

Well, yeah, why not? But you know that you can't buy 4-packs anymore without getting a copy for your account too (which means you would be left with 3 copies in your inventory)?
