I played the closed beta for a bit; it's, still got some weird bugs and usual pre open beta issues, but the gameplay is solid and it seems like a real fun game. granted, it's more on the mmofps side than the mmorpg, but I'd say it's one of the better ones out there and once it has some proper spit and polish applied, it'll be a top contender for the F2P market.

SWTOR will be free to play soon. Leveling up with a mate and playing through the stories would be worth your time. Unfortunately, I payed a monthly subscription fee for it, but I can say that was one of the best leveling up experiences I've had (I have played a number of mmos, haven't tried Guild Wars 2 yet)

swtor is a sad case... I played since beta up until about a month ago. it was leaps and bounds better than wow (to me) and it's kind of sad to see it fall by the wayside. I think there were some key features that folks were expecting out of it that are standard in wow, but those folks failed to realize that those features took half a decade to implement, so they never gave it much chance.

I'd reccomend RaiderZ, but it's getting into the OBT stage, the CBT closed a week ago, I'll add you on steam and tell you when it's back on, kk? (oh and it was featured by Total Biscuit some time ago)

does it contains Z in the name? does it consist of hunting monsters much like Monster hunter and where you can wield a fish to slap your enemies? no? then RaiderZ is still better

Forsaken World isn't that bad if you ignore the shitty guild+paid for shit.

FW is actually a pretty decent game! well, despite one of the races being David Bowie... the biggest issues you'll run into with it are the massive amounts of daily quests and dungeon grinding. the concept around FW is doing your dailies so if that turns you off, then look elsewhere. also, you'll be doing a lot of leveling in certain dungeons during double xp hours and whatnot. not bad, but can get boring and repetitive.
but on the plus, there's loads of awesome features like great class builds, pets!, crafting, and you can get most of the paid stuff through trading, so you don't actually need to spend one red cent. also, if you have red cents, you might want to wash off the blood... just saying...
OH OH! and it has "click on map to auto run to spot" features! yeah, it sounds lazy, but trust me, it's an amazing feature that you'll be cursing at every other game for not having once you've spent an hour in FW land!

I really like it imo.
But because I already own some good paid-for MMORPGs I don't play it anymore...

^This if you ever consider paying for an MMORPG. though the game is little hyped its still good.you dont have to rush to lvl 80 as there is nothing to do after that.which can be considered as good as well as bad. i personally love the leveling part i can take me own sweet time and level up my char and enter in pvp at any time.

Basically what the short and simple title says.
I'm looking for something that's free to play. Also preferably something that doesn't require me to pay to unlock stuff like... inventory space, map areas, skills, equipment... I'm totally okay if you can buy stuff like accessories, that doesn't give you an edge over others. And I guess I could accept if paying players got a small advantage.
Still, feel free to suggest any MMORPG if you think it's great. I'll try to provide feedback about what I think of the games you've suggested.
Finally, don't link me to a site that lists a crapton of different MMORPGs. Considering it'd take at least 15 minutes to get an idea of one, I don't have 60+ hours to spend on finding one.
