Re: "NO" comments...WHAT? I say yes. Just because you're not interested, why shouldn't others have the chance? This is no better than the whiners who complain about giveaways of "bad" games. HINT: Other people have different opinions to you, deal with it.

My first reaction was 'yeah, gifts are always good things!', but upon further reflection, people actually interested in these sort of things can find many, many free alternatives. More importantly, if they're serious about it, the price tag isn't what's deterring them.

Being a multimedia guy, I would love to see some awesome software giveaways ^^

would be a good idea if you ask me, id totally give GameMaker: Studio Master Collection a serious go if it was gifted and i won. :P

I'm still waiting for WinRar to turn up, I actually feel bad for using trial version since ever.
But yes, I'm all for software giveaway, there just aren't any programs on Steam that would be interesting to an average Joe (yet).

Well, most of the games on steamgifts are leftovers from bundles, promotions where the people got the game for free or (steam)sales. Most often the games that are 60p are from websites or others that are promoting their stuff like cdkey sellers or youtube channels. Even if software would be gifted, there would be so many entries of people that wouldn't really use the software, just to own it, that it wouldn't matter. If you want this kind of stuff you either buy it or look for cheap/free alternatives.

why not, if somebody want's to give free stuff I'm not going to interfere, but if he (or she) makes it public he should be aware that the winner might not even install that, I'm not even going to talk about using it...

I don't oppose it, except that you might have people entering the software giveaway just to use up all their points or out of pure greed. And those people might win the software, without any interest in it or intention to use it.

Then again, that happens with everything on steamgifts; you create a giveaway and hope someone who has actual interest in it will win and play it.
