nehrim does the same as the above but its also a total conversion with an entirely different map and no easy fast traveling like in oblivion

if you hate mercantile leveling and trading with merchants in general in oblivion, get the enhanced economy mod

the two main/popular combat mods are unnecessary violence and deadly reflex though they may be too buggy to be worth it in my experience

if you dont want to add all that content, you can't go wrong with the bug fix patches; unofficial oblivion patch, unofficial oblivion mods, and unofficial shivering isles patch
