Any advice on how to treat it? I got it bandaged yesterday by a doctor, I am supposed to keep my leg up whole time, if possible. Are there any supplements you'd advice me to take in the meantime? How long does it usually heal? I am planning to take MSM and liposomal vitamin C (vitamin C with absorption about 90%).
Thank you :)

I was thinking he'd get it amputated at a hospital, but your idea is great if he does this at home. :)

Usually for sprains the most used method is RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation), the compression part has received some debate so if I were you I would skip that part and go for rest, ice and elevation (meaning elevated above heart level). For the ice part you want to wrap an ice pack with a towel or something else to avoid frostbite and only ice the ankle for 10-15 minutes at a time.

That's how I've been treating all my injuries in the recent past.

Seriously? That's really stupid question but I will answer it nonetheless. Just don't walk too much and let it rest. Apply some ointments, also you need calcium, zinc, magnesium, iron based vitamins. That's pretty much there is to it. Oh also you can create giveaways, that will make your ankle heal even faster :D

You need to sprain it back. Do fast motions until the ligament feels numb.

Trust me I'm an internet surgeon.
