Looks like a death threat to me. Obviously whoever looks at his thread has only 128 ticks/seconds to die. I lol'd irl when I read about this thread.

I'll spare you the technical explenation. But 64-tick (what CSGO currently has) results in a lot of shots fired by players not hitting their target. The bullets basicly disappear. If you watch the demo from a game for example, you'll often see for example 5 hits to the ennemy, but the game says you've hit him only twice. It's possible to do 2 headshots in a row and not get a kill. With 128-tick way less bullets would get 'lost'. So if you shoot the head, the ennemy will die like he's supposed to.

Stop "sparing" us the details.
You didn't "spare" any details in your whining wall of text. Give us a legitimate reason to sympathize with you.

Yes, the details are in the OP because he added them to the original post after he made that comment through the ancient and mystical art known as 'editing', you silly goose. n_n

Why dont you report the mod to steam support for abusing their position, and ask them for a full explanation.
Comment has been collapsed.
Pfft, all you need is -2 ticks and you're golden. Time travelling bullets from the future FTW and it doesn't count as a spawn kill because the player cant spawn.

I complained after getting an undeserved ban, what would you do?
If people deserve a forumban just for creating a thread without any offensive material, than 99% of all forum users deserve a ban. The forummod himself later kinda admitted that the forumban wasn't necessary. He probably just did it because of an emotional reason: him hating people asking for 128-tick. Moderators are supposed to be objective, not subjective. While the bans I've gotten because of this are subjective, and because the mods don't want to admit that they acted premature and overreacted. So they decide to just silence me and that's it. Childish reaction of the forummod.

I complained after getting an undeserved ban, what would you do?
I would definitely not log into another account to get around my ban; that is a serious no-no anywhere you go and I'm sure it's why you got your community ban.
I've moderated a couple different large internet communities and while I may agree that the initial ban was a bit of an overreaction, the moment you used a second account to complain about the ban on your first one you lost your ability to claim "unfair"; even if the first ban was unfair, the way you handled it made it necessary to issue a harsher punishment.
Think of it like this: If you were at a shop and they claimed you were being a bother and asked you to leave the premises, even if you weren't doing anything wrong, that is fully within their rights, and if you then come back the next day to shout about how you didn't deserve to be banned from the store it is now within their right to call the cops on you, and you'd deserve it.

Hey man, you're totally free to go all anarchist about it if you want, but be prepared to face the consequences of your actions.
If getting a community ban is going to upset you this much, then yes, you should probably suck it up for fear of "their retaliation", better known as "rule enforcement" or "their job".

Yup they did the right thing...
the forum gets flooded with threads like these a lot.. best way to prevent this.. ban em all
also maybe ur comunity ban is for Accessing the Forum after being forum banned with another account.. which is also fair.. being banned means being banned :| get over it :P

ONE THREAD, it's not against the rules to ask for it, so it shouldn't be banable. If they don't want people to make threads about it they should make a sticky with things not to ask about (which there isn't). If you can't even make a thread about your wishes / suggestion... They could've just closed the thread and replied to not post such things anymore and the problem would have been solved. Now it's plain bullying of them.

Sadly cs:go doesnt acknowledge the 64-tick server problems even if competitive players say its a problem even after every competitive tournament is hosted on 128tick still no change on the servers.Hopefully you got banned only for 1 month on that specific forum. Also welcome to community servers that 128 is common and the servers are payed by the community i hope you find a server near you cause a ping above 90 isnt going to make a difference 64 or 128
Also i have heard a case of person trading too many games getting suspended during an investigation but he was still able to play and buy

Problem with community server: They tends to be shitty in game mode.
Death Match with endless time and CS:Source interface for choosing gun.
Competitive mode with 24 players.
Empty servers, random bugged custom map and missing textures.
Higher rate of cheaters.

Yea I was forum banned for "trolling" when the thread OP was asking "My friends told me there is a secret to opening cases. Can anyone tell me the secret because I wanna open knives and awps?". Everyone was saying "Yea we know the secret but we aren't going to tell you" and he kept raging at everyone. The forum mods are complete idiots. They close threads pointing out problems about the game. Seriously what kind of crap is this?
To be honest I think every single tournament for CSGO should be redone because I'm pretty sure they were playing on 64 tick servers which means that some people should have died when they didn't which means that the tournament was broken. Makes no sense. You make a competitive FPS and then put in terrible servers.
Comment has been collapsed.
That has nothing to do with being an idiot. They are just too lazy to tell everyone about everything.
Comment has been collapsed.
no he won't - like many people said before - you didn't get community ban for making a Tich 128 thread - you got forumban for it. YOu got community ban for using another account to overcome your forum ban, which is agains the ruyles. Doesn't matter if the forumban was for good reason or not, it doesn't give you privilage to break rules nonetheless.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, they could have just given a forum ban for it. I'm not allowed to trade because I said something wrong on the forum? And I should just suck up undeserved bans? You got to be honest: asking for 128-tick isn't such a great offence that it deserves a ban...if u can even call it an offensive. And the response of the forummod after that was crybaby-like, not admitting his premature ban and even taking it further... And even threatning me.
In my opinion he just wanted to silence me to cover up his emotional reaction ban.
Comment has been collapsed.
And then you would just be able to lig into next account and go around another forum ban and so on and on and on. You cannot talk at forum because you said something wrong there. You cannot trade, because you didn't respent your ban and tried to cheat the system. Person who community banned yyou doesn't care what you were complaining about on forum. He cares that you broke the rules to go around your forum ban ;p
And yeah - you're so important that they must take extra measures to make sure to silence you forever, otherwise you will surely start the revolution! Get real. Noone really cares about your puny account and forumban.

That support doesn't give a shit is already clear from the moment they banned me because they probably didn't look at how it all started. They'd better review their forummods to see if they ban by objective criteria and treat everyone equaly.
Comment has been collapsed.
It doesn't matter how it started. It matters that you BROKE THE RULES. YOu're no movie-hero-vigillante that can break laws for greater justice. And Steam Support have nothing to do with forum mods. Every game dev may enforce whatever fucking rules they please for THEIR forums attached to THEIR game, and you should follow. Simple as that.
Comment has been collapsed.
So I'm not blind after all, always been upset when it says i only get 1 or 2 hits on them when I see blood when i hit people and should have killed them. I wasn't even aware of this problem, thanks for sharing tho' OP and I'm sorry about your ban, seems pretty stupid
Comment has been collapsed.
Did you searched forums for 128tick threads? There's 6 pages of them. I guess mod just had power-trip (same as drug-trip, but caused by power instead of drugs) and went a little overkill with banning for making a thread without searching for it first - he should write "post in one of different topics about it" and close it.
Imagine 1 month bans on SteamGifts for all those "why $30" threads...
Comment has been collapsed.
Unless the FAQ and such have been rewritten in the last year, then no, they shouldn't.
At least when I first joined SteamGifts, and for many months afterwards, the FAQ and other help files were missing important information, contained outdated information, and mentioned sections that weren't included. Reading the FAQ for an answer could and sometimes did leave new users more confused than when they started.
While there were plenty of repetitive forum topics, the replies inside those topics tended to be complaints about seeing the same topic yet again or blanket "Read the FAQ" responses even when the FAQ didn't actually answer the question. That meant that even if you did a forum search for a particular question before answering it yourself, you'd likely just see several similar threads that had left it unanswered.
(The unexplained asterisk on the Create A Giveaway page was one of the worst offenders of information not addressed by neither the responsible page nor the FAQ. The $30 limit was more a matter of confusing descriptions.)
Comment has been collapsed.
I've checked FAQ before sending my comment to see while it doesn't say anything about $30, it does explain * and CV-not-rising.
Had to rephrase my comment because of that, because SG really took their time to add it - enough to make me lose faith it's going to be added there :P

seems like they got fed up with threads blaming the game for players' poor skills :)
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm far far far away from being skilled, but even I can feel the difference between 64 and 128 tick servers. I've been wondering since release why they dont put up 128-tick servers for the competitive matchmaking (probably $$$)
Comment has been collapsed.
What do you consider poor skill? I'm an average player, ranked Distinguished Master Guardian on both my CSGO accounts. And there's really something up with the hitreg. I don't watch many of my demo's to look for it, only when i'm 100% certain the ennemy should have been dead. And when that happens I'm almost always right. Like a few games ago where I did 2 headshots in a row with an AK (which is clearly visible in the demo - head flinches) and ennemy wasn't dead, not even hurt.
Comment has been collapsed.
And what made you stop having fun with games and starting two CSGO accounts, being ranked distringuished master guardian and complaining about dying in a fricking videogame?
Comment has been collapsed.
Is this still funny to people. Thought we were done with this joke. lol
Comment has been collapsed.
i dont play csgo, nor have a clue of how its forums work, but based on what you said, i think it should be damn simple: if that's against the rules -> ban, if not, you should have got an answer the bloody question, whatever it be. period.
i don't see how you should've been banned for it

Does Skyrim have 128 ticks or 64 ticks?
If it has 64 ticks, then this sentence is such a lie:
"I used to be an adventurer like you, until I got an arrow to the knee."

dun dun dunnnnn. Sorry to say but arrow to the knee is not funny anymore.

Hi
For people who do not know what 128-tick:
I'll spare you the technical explenation. But 64-tick (what CSGO currently has) results in a lot of shots fired by players not hitting their target. The bullets basicly disappear. If you watch the demo from a game for example, you'll often see for example 5 hits to the ennemy, but the game says you've hit him only twice. It's possible to do 2 headshots in a row and not get a kill. With 128-tick way less bullets would get 'lost'. So if you shoot the head, the ennemy will die like he's supposed to.
A video showing 64-tick:

2 deagle headies and sniper body shot all not registered:

So 2 days ago I made ONE thread on the CSGO forum asking for 128-tick. No insults in the thread, nothing offensive.
I've immediately gotten a forumban... How is it against the rules to ask for 128-tick? It's not. My thread might be considered "spam" as others also asked for 128-tick. But is that enough reason for a forumban, just asking for 128-tick? My account is 7y old and I've spend like 2000 hours on CSS and CSGO together, and I'm not allowed to even make a single thread asking for 128-tick? Most likely it was an emotional ban from the forummod because srsly...if that's banable... Probably I was just the victim of the mods rage against people asking for 128-tick (I know more people ask for it).
After I logged in to my other account to complain about the forumban as it's obviously an undeserved forumban. Then that account got forumbanned too, for longer. And then the forummod added me to message me that he'd be taking action against me, basicly threaten me. He later kind of admitted that the forumban was kind of an overkill. He was suprised that I wasn't happy to get banned for making ONE thread without any offensive nor rulebreaking content. So he reported my profile (his words, dunno exact what he did).
So the next day I log in and...one month community ban... All I did was making ONE thread asking for 128-tick. Like seriously?
Later this forummod told me that the ban isn't because of the dispute I've had with him but must be because of something else they've found. Yeah right, I've been thinking about everything, I didn't break any rules. Even at steamtrades I don't accept paypal (unlike many others) just to prevent a suspension or anything else because it's against the rules to resell games.
The rule I'd have broken also isn't mentioned in the ban message. I think I just became a victim of mod rage. And this while I have a 7y old account, spent €300 the last few months etc... And this ban has come at the most important part of the year: Steam winter sale.
I've always been a fan of Steam and also of the support (while many people dislike the support). Atm I'm furious about this community ban. All because I asked for 128-tick... Can you believe it?
I went from an ambassador of Steam to a hater... It's not too late for me to become happy again about Steam; but that would require an unban. But we've all heard the storries of people who had similar problems: steam support doesn't reply to their questions, and certainly not fast. So it's very unlikely I'll have my community "privileges" (as they call it) back when the winter sale starts tomorrow.
I just wanted to share my experience. Have any of you guys had something similar happen to you? Any advice?
I'm very frustrated and angry atm. Because one month community ban is too rediculous for words for making a 128-tick thread. And there's nothing I can do, there's nobody I can contact for it... Yes I've contacted Steam support but based on the storries people tell about these kind of things, the chances are very slim something constructive will come from it. When I had a billing issue I had received a reply after 24h. For this, will I even get a reply? And Won't it just be "sorry we can't do anything about it".
