If you think someone is abusing the rep system here then send a ticket to support.

I talk now with guys, I try to explain them. But seems that this idiot impersonator jumped on new trades, guys who are not experienced in trade, it's little hard to explain them what is going on here. If I don't convince them in truth (that I have nothing to do with this scamm) I will contact SG support)... :(

I had luck that this 2 guys were reasonable good persons and they understood what is going on here. I really hope that they will recover their items and that this jerk who did scamm will be banned soon (would be so great that ip ban exist on Steam, but anyway that wouldn't prevent bastards to use vpn for further scamms)...

Fake reps isn't exactly support's primary objective, I'd say. I guess that they are pretty darn busy with lots of other more important issues. Doesn't help that very few support members actually have the power to do much.
cg, how about more support members with more control? Please? No? :(

Steam should really change their backed to change things like I/l to be treated as the same character when changing names and the like.
Or if you were blocked from trading and the like for say, a week, after changing names, listing how long you've had that name (and your previous ones), etc.

Don't worry about that one. That guy will delete it, he left it there just to warn you that you have impersonator around (I know that is little stupid way for warn, but I couldn't explain that to him). Anyway, he said he will remove it soon (or you should contact him). I know all this, because this is one of two guys who this impersonator scammed when he used my nick... :/

Yes, now I see, 26 minutes ago he went offline. But, I noticed one more fact last time when I saw him online - then he had 26 friends on Steam and now he has 29. Seems that he added 3 more victims. I really hope that those guys will be careful and that will avoid his scam attempts.

I just made a report on steamrep website. Maybe you should do same, so they can ban him finally...

This person impersonated me and more than two dozen other SG traders in the last 2 weeks. His previous Steam account that he used for impersonating is Trade banned by Valve this week and he was already banned from Steamrep. And his Steamrep page of that previous account is now very colorful indeed...
It's clear he made a new Steam account.

Yes, seems that 3 hours ago he found new "victim" for impersonating. I am surprised that Steam didn't trade banned him. Seems that he didn't got enough reports and it mean we need be more persistent with massive reports. Here you can see all SG users which he impersonated since 8th february (sadly older nick history can't be found)...

I don't think he knew what to do when I changed my avatar. If he copies it he would expose himself, if he sent someone to the link it would expose him, and if he tried to change it, it would look wrong, probably exposing him. I better leave it up for a day or two, in case he managed to actually pull a scam off.
Poor Sylvir.

Hi. I'm the girl you gave negative rep to. Go ahead and click the Steam profile linked to Steam gifts and you'll see where two other users have warned me of an impersonator. Thanks.

If you know that you were scammed by the impersonator, why haven't you removed the negative feedback on the innocent persons account? The impersonator does not have an account here. Look at the next post bellow yours in the thread and compare the account to the scammer.

Thank you, kind sir. You've been whitelisted purely for being a logical and rational human being.

Read this article another time, please. You accused real Sylvir because of some bastard/impersonator. That impersonator who scammed you doesn't even have steamgifts profile, he copy/paste other ones to scam traders beginners. This is fake profile who scammed you >>>click<<<. Would be fair from you to remove negative rep of innocent guy, he has nothing to do with that (I am telling you this because 2 days ago I was in same bad situation as real Sylvir, but two guys who got scamed by this same impersonator understood what is going on here)...

how come you did a bad reputation to the real guy?!
you should give a bad reputation to the impersonator bro. bad move. very bad move.

I'm sorry for your loss and all but even if someone is not a trader you should know that combo isn't worth $50, and usually people don't like to overpay, especially high rep traders.

That's what I said. Greed was a huge factor in that scam.

Alien, could you do a favor and clear my name with this guy? He seems to think I'm the impersonator and not the victim. The one right above, actually. I would greatly appreciate it; I would hate for my rep to suffer.

I tried in comment above and I hope that he will understand... :/
P.S. He also added me on Steam and we nicely talked. I guess he removed negative rep now. I wish you both good luck (you to no get impersonator again and Mano to not be scammed again). And, ofc, I wish to that bastard impersonator to get banned as fast as he can on Steam finally...

I hope so, too =/ I've been posting in my groups and one has kicked him out, which is good. Hopefully enough people will report him.
Thanks!

I would plan to keep an eye on this guy. Should be able to keep track of all names he used including those 10+ names.

A week ago, appeared global impersonator who is impersonating many Steamgifts users who have high numbers of positive repsand zero negative. He is taking their profile picture and fake there profile with one old trick - if user has in his/her nick small letter "L" he is making almost same url putting instead big letter "i" (he did that in 60% of cases). This guy doesn't have own Steamgifts profile, he just find "victim" and change his Steam profile (avatar, nick, custom url and description with url on "victim" inside it), his comments are locked (he seems very clever, you can't even comment on his screenshot or review, that's also locked), he has only one comment and that one he wrote for himself "I do not use Steam Profile reputation since it's useless. Only exchange rep in SteamTrades". He already caused few negative reps to innocent Steamgifts users (I already tried to clear some of them with talking with scammed people, for now only 1 negative rep is still damaging one of "victims"). Also, seems that this is not his first Steam account which he use for scamming. Apparently, he had another account which was trade banned one day before he started scam from this one. We, as community, need to unite with massive reports on Steam (because he don't have own Steamgifts account, but he does damage to Steamgifts users) so Steam can ban his second account, too. Please, bump this thread for sake of all Steamgifts traders - he destroy reputation of honest old traders and also scam naive new users.
