The Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War II Retribution: Last Stand Alone DLC Complete Pack [Online Game Code] in the DoW Franchise Pack on Amazon is potentially the Last Standalone, NOT the DLC Pack. If you redeem that key first, and then redeem Retribution, you will get a gift copy of The Last Standalone.

proof

Note: some people say they received the correct key, so it could be that only some of the keys are bugged.

I got mine doing this and thought it was odd, thanks. :)

I got my gift copy that way too. But for some odd reason my Dawn of War II and Chaos Rising didn't come with Steam keys, when everyone else I know did get Steam keys for those parts of the bundle. I knew about DOW Gold and Dark Crusade not giving keys when I purchased it. I contacted support to find out it if was simply they ran out of keys.

They may have just run out. If you bought recently, go back to the page in the couple of hours - it might show up later.

Figured. But I dropped them a line just in case. There are keys included for them, but they're not Steam keys.

The Last Standalone isn't in my library, is it just grouped into Retribution?

Yup. If you view the DLC tab, it should say "Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Retribution - Last Stan..."
That's the Last Standalone.

The full Retribution game also includes
"Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Retribution - Campaig..."
"Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Retribution - Multiplay..."

I think
"Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II Retribution - Imperial Fi..."
is a free DLC

Wait, so does this mean we'd get Retribution in our library AND get a gift copy? :o

Yes, the gift copy says

Dawn of War II - Retribution - The Last Standalone

Steam
Gift
Includes 2 items: Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II: Retribution, Dawn of War II: Retribution – The Last Standalone

I don't actually know if it's Retribution or just The Last Standalone, but it seems like it includes both.

The gift copy is probably just The Last Standalone... it's all confusing though. My buddy gifted that to me a while back after he bought a DoW complete pack (from steam I think)... it's just a stripped down multiplayer only thing.

It shows in my library as DoW II Retribution, but it's not the full game. I go to the DLC and it just shows the Last Standalone there. But since it shows in my library as Retribution, I can't enter into giveaways for the full game.

Yeah, I just bought the Amazon bundle and activated Retribution for myself. The gift looks just like the one I got previously that was The Last Standalone ONLY.

Well it sucks that you can't enter giveaways for the full game, but the Last Stand mode is easily the most fun I've had online in a long time. True, it's not the full meat and potatoes RTS thing, but the Last Stand is a surprisingly addictive fast-paced co-op battle mode against waves of enemy AI. You will suck at it at first, but as you earn XP and your hero gains better gear as you progress, the tactical possibilities open up and it gets rather dynamic, varied and fun. There are still loads of people playing it, so I recommend you give it a shot. You might end up liking it a lot.

EDIT: Just saw that you said you activated Retribution for yourself. Do try out Last Stand mode though :)

So you're saying that the key given for 'Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War II Retribution: Last Stand Alone DLC Complete Pack [Online Game Code]' is not the DLC pack that the Amazon page links to containing 6 DLCs ?

Anyone who would redeem the Retribution game first would then be told they already own the product if they tried to use the Last Stand Alone DLC code.. even if they didn't redeem any other code ? And Anyone who redeemed it before redeeming the Retribution game code gets a giftable copy of StandAlone but doesn't get the 6 DLCs ?

I intended to give that code to my nephew who has the DoW II Retribution game without any DLC.. so he won't be able to use it ;\

Also.. anyone joining a giveaway for that package will get a code that they can't use over their base game.

Mekboy Wargear, Captain Wargear, Hive Tyrant Wargear, Lord General Wargear, Farseer Wargear and Chaos Sorcerer Wargear are the ones that you would have received from Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War II Retribution: Last Stand Alone DLC Complete Pack are all included in Retribution: Tau Commander + All Campaign Wargear+ TLS Wargear.

Yes that is correct. I redeemed Retribution first and the DLC code said "Product Owned" already when I tried to use it. Other people have redeemed in the opposite direction and gotten giftable copies of The Last Standalone, but no one I have spoken to has gotten the correct DLC from that code.

I'm pretty sure this has been fixed. I just tried it and when I tried to redeem the Last Standalone DLC Complete Pack first, it told me that I was missing the base game, so it's back to being a DLC key.

Ugh, so I suppose some of the keys are actually correct, but some redeem the base game.

Any idea if they switched it yet? Because I would rather have an extra copy of TLS to give to a friend for coop than a redundant wargear DLC tbh. The Tau Commander pack already includes all of that, right?

They got switched literally right after my last post in this thread (all the way on the bottom). Note: the key that was added is the redundant wargear DLC, not TLS.

I have no idea. Amazon made a huge error here. Some people say they activated the DLC pack correctly, but some (including me) know the key is Standalone base. So it seems that Amazon accidentally replaced some of the keys with the incorrect one and its a crapshoot to know which is which.

ahhh so that would explain why I can't use my key ._. I did it the other way around and it says I already own it

A little update from Amazon:

FYI for those who had the issue with DoW and the DLC pack yesterday here's what we're doing:

We'll be removing all the current keys for that title from your games and software library and replacing them with the correct key.

Cheers,
Tony

Basically, anyone who bought the bundle will be getting new keys in the next couple of days. So if you havent revealed the keys yet, do so and save them!
