Why would you do that? Maybe you bought a different Version or something?

If you already had the game then it wont get redeemed. It will tell you that you already have it. If it didn't give you the message that it already exists and displayed the game name and offered you an option to install, it means that it got redeemed.
To confirm, check Account Details > Licenses+Subscriptions. If it shows the last added game as the game which u "tested", with acquisition method as Retail.. then it got redeemed. :)

Well, it seems that now I own both versions.
"De varejo" means retail.

Oh crap, ok I see what happened here. This happened to me when I had Deus Ex: HR and Deus Ex: HR Augmented edition. It let me redeem both, but I still only had access to the non-augmented edition. Steam is funny that way when there are several editions of the same game, including different regions. I have two copies of Borderlands 2 because different regions are considered different games. In the case of Deus Ex I just contacted Steam Support and had them free up the second copy again. They did it for me so you can try that.

Nope, the key wont be redeemable anymore.
You shouldnt have done that, the other key is binded to your account as well now.

You probably mistook the 'you already own this product' error message with 'duplicate key'. There is almost 0 probability that Amazon keys will be already used, so I'd count on that.
Why would you test the key anyway? If it is from as reputable site as Amazon is and you bought it yourself, I don't see what could go wrong really.

According to The Bro Nasium, some Spec Ops subscriptions have slight differences from each other in terms of "apps" that they carry. Maybe the amazon key subscription has more "apps" than the subscription that you acquired, and because of that when you tried the key it updated your previous sub.
That's all just speculating from my part, though. I know that this happens when you activate, for instance, a key for a base game + DLCs while you already owned previously the base game. I'm just extending that logic to the fact that the Spec Ops subscriptions slightly differ in terms of language packs apps.

Why would you need to test the key? I dunno you probably activated two different region versions.

I got Spec Ops from GMG and it gave me "retail" version. This can be the problem here, Steam never sells retail versions and if you redeem the retail one, you can do it even if you do own the game.
I have 2 Batman Arkham Asylum's in my Library, one is normal and the other one is GOTY edition.

Not sure, but if the 2 products you activated are exactly the same, I'd image that's the only right thing they can do for you. Because that'd implies a bug in their system, considering that it shouldn't allow you to have 2 copies of the same game in your library.
Just give it a try and see what happens.

This has happened to me as well. The solution is to not test keys on your account, haha. It's a painful lesson though.
Edit: Also, it turns out there is no benefit to "testing" keys. The check to see if you already have that game happens before the check to see if that key has been used. That is to say, if you already have it, you still won't know if the key is still good. The only thing this tells you is that the key is for that game, not whether or not it can still be used.
The more you know...

So I bought a copy of Spec Ops The Line on Amazon to give away here on SG, and as I always do when the product is a key, and when I already have the game, I "tested" the key in my account and the game was redeemed. So I'm not sure if I should make or not a giveaway for this game because I don't know if the key will work.
Any thoughts?
inb4 gimme the key and I'll test for you to know if still works
