Awesome :D
I still didn't play the first, but I know it's a pretty good game(with all the DLCs...)

You can hardly consider it milking since half the dlc was free for a while after they came out and the other half (excluding the penny arcade dlc) was more than worth the price. And the fact that you can play pretty much all of it without actually owning the dlc by joining someone else's game, the only dlc that you couldn't use without buying were the new classes and the penny arcade pack which sucked.

LOL there were three pieces of free DLC and one was a pre-alpha CTF mode that never went past pre-alpha. That's out of 24 total DLC.

Nice try but it was more than that. There was the Valentines dlc, the xmas dlc, the thanksgiving dlc, both of the halloween dlc, the presidents day dlc, st patricks day dlc and the anniversary dlc. That is 8 of the dlc. Also owners of each of the hero dlc also got their respective skin + map dlc pack for free when it came out. On top of that the owners of the shard dlc pack got all 4 shard maps, assault dlc and the warping core dlc.

I only purchased the 3 extra heroes, the eternia shards pack, talay mining map and penny arcade dlc. Got each other DLC for free during first week of release! If you weren't playing it constantly, you most likely didnt notice that... so bitching about it being dlc rip-off feels totally wrong to me!

LMAO
No game ever should have DLC pack(whatever quality of DLC) valued !! 5 !! times of the base game (and don't get me started on Train Simulator 2k13 - i just can't process that). GOD! Back in the day for this ratio one could buy 2-3 expanssions and a sequel. Please, do tell how is that not milking.
For the record I've enjoyed this game tremendously but when they started release DLC faster than i could afford them i stopped p(l)aying.

First of all I'm not whining, I'm merely stating a fact. Secondly the fact that they throwed few freebies (as i recall some of them was time limited) doesn't change the fact they supported their title by releasing shameless DLC spam which is in my opinion lousy bussiness practice because as a customer i would like to know what am i buying and what to expect down the road. The idea of getting complete product by DLC driven supscriptions is just wrong - it's not a MMO. If you call these claims for basic game industry ethics sad, whining or bitching then i can only fell sorry for you - maybe one day you'll learn your lesson. I, on the other hand, will not support these practices and i will vote with my wallet.

Like i said before, 90 % of the dlc were free for a limited time. But much fun not supporting an indie dev that kept updating their 15 € game for free for over a year, also delivering additional content thats totally worth ist price. Just stick to your EA 50 bucks games with day 1 dlc + microtransactions! If you dont see a difference there, this is not worth discussing any further!

Love how they took the forums down just as they announce this. Hopefully they don't screw this one up like they did with the first one with the sudden massive jump in gear that completely unbalanced the game.

I got the first one from Amazon one day before it was on Humble with all the DLCs :/ Wish I had waited, the DLCs are certainly not worth the full price but feauture some really cool maps and characters.
The game is awesome btw.! I can easily play 3 hours straight. Dunno waht to expect from F2P though. This will probably mean you have to unlock a lot of stuff by ingame currency, and cannot just find cool weapons and stuff dropped by crates/enemies...

The community has always had good and bad people, but making it F2P will just make it enormously bad. When they gave away thousands of copies it seemed like less friendly players starting showing up. Good players showed up as well, but they were not as noticable.

Multiplayer Online Battle Arena Action Tower Defense Role Playing Game...
YES that's exactly what i imagined. No, not really, but i'm happy as hell. Love League of Legends at some point, love Dungeon Defenders. But what they meant with:
Our goal is to provide the same amount of content at around the same price as the original game.
So, they gonna release like 15 maps, 4 champions etc?
List of champions from their site:
Hunter
Kobold King
Man and Machine
Monk
Mystic
Necromancer
Orc Chieftain
Prisoner
Rider
Series EV
Squire
Spider Princess
Summoner
Crystalline Knight
Lavamancer
Spirit Warrior
Gun Witch
Tank
Dark Shaman
Countess
Dryad
Barbarian
Huntress

i was excited until i read it was a moba. i've played a few of those and the only one i've liked at all is airmech, and that's because it lets you build some units instead of only auto-spawning creeps. who knows, maybe trendy will do something interesting with it.

I dont like how Dungeon Defenders 2 would be F2P, always disliked most F2P games if you look at Dungeon Defenders a not F2P game certain characters with certain weapons are more powerful than the starting classes. Also whenever they give away thousands of copies I go meh and leave the game for a while because so many of the F2P players in many mmos and fpses feel really entitled for some reason also they mic spam and are mainly annoying. 5% of the new players are good and friendly, but is isnt worth the 60% that are bad, an 35% that are average.
Most places have out of 10 players in mobas, fpses, sports, 1-2 good, 1-2 bad, and 6-8 average.

Oh god no. It will have at least the triple of the dlcs.

This game is made to be a fail.
Maybe it is f2p and not pay2win, but it sure as hell will be pay2ToHaveFun...

I hate to be cynical, but there's no way this will benefit the players. These guys love DLC a bit too much.

GAH! This is just like Monday Night Combat.
I finally get the game and then they announce a free-to-play sequel.

Check it out right here and discuss it right... here!
Also this:
Oh, and did we mention Dungeon Defenders II will be FREE! And yes, by that we mean free-to-play. No, it will not be pay to win.
