If you want my opinion on how much would those animation be. It would be $15 minimum for a perfect looping gif to fit with your desired effects and text.

What do you use to make gifs? (I mean, what software). Is it normal that photoshop destroys my disk space while working on gifs with lots of frames? Is there any way to make "higher quality" gifs?

One key for each, if that's 1.75USD, is ridiculous. For my first commission ever I asked 5USD for a simple avatar icon and that was also underpriced. Gifs involve animation, aka, creating many pictures that need to flow together.
Check commission groups on DeviantArt or ask around on Tumblr & Facebook art groups for this and if you're not paying real money, at least don't offer just one key and a giveaway. A literal giveaway that they can't be sure they win, is that it? Wtf, I sure hope not.
Unless you want a super simple gif, don't expect less than 10USD at all for starters. Ask the artist what their fee is.

I was simply commenting because if you reach an artist saying those initial prices you're likely to get rejected. I'd also like to prevent others from getting such a low payment. Besides, you were asking what we thought about the price and I was doing such: saying my thoughts on the price.
