you make give aways... the give away is given a CV (contributor value) based on the real life dollar value - and each level requires a certain amount of real life dollar value to have been given away.

You level up by giving away games. You get to level 1 by giving away one game, but leveling up beyond that is a bit harder. Bundle games make you level up slower then nonbundled. There is a more detailed answer in the FAQ :)

When i was looking at your steam games library and I saw 103 hours played on adventure capitalist I thought I was looking at my own games library... but then i looked and mine says 209 hours on adventure capitalist.... FML.

no i have not played it... and i had to uninstall the original and then remove it from my steam library to get myself to stop playing it.... especially since I have a backlog of actual real games that will probably take me close to 10 years to even play

Well i was just browsing through your library too and saw many games that i got or that i would like to have. And i totally feel you about games that could hold me for years(but havent really touched them). I am sad to see that Stardew Valley has so few hours on the record, as this game sucked me in for plenty. But i guess its natural with all these games you gotta distribute those hours ;) Really liked what i saw tho :)

Well, I had to put in some major work into my library organization and decided i would not sort it by genre. I had to sort it by retired (playable), retired (avoid), early access, Current AAA (limited to 10), Current Others (limited to 10), Future, and Recent Additions. So I try and get a few minutes into a game maybe even an hour and then put it in its slot. Stardew Valley is something that i moved to my future list because that game is going to be a black hole of hours spent. I have tried to really cut down on my purchases recently - but then I picked up HOI4 and Cossacks 3 - and boom cant stop playing them.
Its like I look at my library list and think ok what are we going to try today - nope nothing new, lets go to the old favorite standby lol. I'm getting to old for this!

Well at least you got it organized, i cant even find my keys when i need them! About Stardew, yes believe me i thought i would die on it cause i wouldnt eat drink or go to toilet while i was playing it ( still havent completed it). I totally get you about not knowing what to play cause you want something new, when i do that i then impulsively buy a new game and i get bored in like 2 hours or so...it is a problem.. it is maybe a dicease..and here i am like you on standby. I think a break from gaming is what we need (just a lil one ;) )

A huge part of the problem is - you load up a new game and bam - a few hours learning curve. A good example is any grand strategy game or 4x game. If you havn't played the previous version like crusader kings, hearts of iron, europa... pretty much any paradox game - then you are in for a few hours of just learning how to play. If I had to do that for every game in my library.... jeez... its just too much! That is why I just end up playing one of my favorites - I don't want to learn how to play, I just want to play! Break from gaming? Blasphemous! Besides, I got that Civ VI on pre-order! But I have actually been giving some thought into trying the new WOW xpac... the hardest part of my day is trying to work up the zeal to hit play on a new game in my steam library.... maybe its because there are too many to choose from lol who knows

I ve heard good things about Legion and i m really thinking about it! Used to be vanilla player and tried a lil bit of Draenor and many things have indeed changed! Thing is that even if i wanted to, i m currently locked out of my account cause i deleted my authenticator and i need to contact support and its a mess in general ! But if you try it , i d like some feedback on that, and maybe we can play together sometime if i ever start.

I found out today that you can use in game gold (in USA its like 30K gold) to pay for a 30 day time credit. So I am downloading the client and will be giving Legion a try - lots of people on youtube are saying its like the second coming of WoTLK - which is a great thing (to me).

LOL i couldnt imagine myself playing AdCap for so many hours, so i congratulate you on your success! :) 36 hours is too short tho, lets hope they make a new one in the series like ummm..i dunno Adventure Colonist or maybe Adventure Cosmos where you can expand in the whole universe and stuff and maybe add multiplayer or i dunno lol :P (these just came into my head, maybe they could work tho. maybe i should make a discussion on the game's page or smth lol)

Seriously, read the FAQ, hang out on the forum a bit, do a couple of GA's and ping some peeps when you decide to do your first train :-) Oh and if you like making puzzles, there's plenty of folks that enjoy solving them - that way you don't have to do public GA's and you'll make friends in that crowd. Yeah, levels Jerry :-p PS, I love jigidi GA's thought some look down on them in the puzzling world -shrugs

Points are awarded every 15 minutes (on the clock, minutes 00, 15, 30, 45). So there is no reason to constantly refresh the page waiting for more points, just check after the next multiple of 15 minutes. :) The number of points you'll get varies, but is the same for everyone each 15 minutes, based on how many giveaways were created on the site during the previous 15 minutes. In other words, you don't have to do anything to get more points, just wait and they will appear.
If you level up, you will have access to more giveaways, but your points earning rate won't change.

and they never go above 300 so spend em or like me, NOT! Plus if you have a wishlist on Steam, you can just go to that GA link and only enter for those games you really want or in my case, discover that you're missing or, GAH! missed a good bundle. click the game pix to go to steam and "enhanced Steam" will show you what bundle the game is in
And checked your Steam profile - you might want to add to that wishlist before using that link!

All users on the site are given an equal number of points, and you cannot do anything outside of waiting patiently to increase your number of points. The number of points being distributed to users is based on the number of giveaways being posted to the site, and you'll frequently see your points automatically rise throughout the day.
