How many Wi-Fi signals do you see at home?
Only one. But I can only see it when I close my eyes.

But yeah I know you can save money all around the house if you set up timers that shut off your appliances automatically at night. Not just for the modems but a lot of other things as well. Good insulation is also very important in northern countries. My heating bill alone is like between 100 and 150$ in winter and electricity is cheap here in Quebec.
If everyone did that we wouldn't need so many dams / power plants. There's also these moments in summer that we are producing too much electricity and it all goes to waste anyway because there's no way to store all of it. Apparently if everyone had an electric car plugged into the grid, we could use them to store excess electricity and send it back to the grid in case of shortage. The future is awesome.

Usually between 6-10, but a lot of that is printers.

Really, everyone? That's strange. It's usually just the oddball tinfoil hat that tries to rile people up about stuff being dangerous.
This is a bit anecdotal but I find it funny that many that fear completely harmless stuff like wifi and electricity are completely oblivious about scientifically proven harmful things like smoking or drinking.

People still say that today. But that's mostly because of cellphones. Since they have to reach an antenna that's a lot further away, they emit a signal that's much more powerful than a household router. So when that emitter is pressed up against your leg all day it might cause problems. Anyway, that's what I heard.

Considering that AM/FM radio is strong enough to penetrate walls, shouldn't we all have died from cancer living anywhere that has a radio station?

Very, very rarely two. Usually just our wifi signal, and even that isn't always certain lol

surprised a little but considering in the quality of the signals - not worrisome ... i'd be seriously bothered if a
"signal tower" would be close by ... (i'm in vienna city, 5th district) - but i don't feel as if the wifi would affect me
had changed my wifi channel to 9 > so other signals don't
interfere with my channels signal quality (yes it helps a bit) ...

for the moment - i'd bet most capitals have easily 150+ ... but also depends
how many signals the networks card in ones wifi device is able to detect

I'd be worried too. The frequency range is close to that of microwave ovens and the effects are similar, only reduced due to distance :P
Seriously though, they have safety limits on building those. I wouldn't worry too much.. unless I started to feel really hot....

*wrong link - replaced now
:-D yeah there are likely some real issues and real impact to a certain degree, measurable/scientific or not
that is why i don't keep my phones close to my noggin when going to bed; nor do i leave any wifi devices
on, when going to sleep, that and the wifi-router-modem isn't in my bedroom; LAN is better anyway for most stuff
on that note ... back in the day or even today people were worried how the MP3 format could have long term
damaging effects on the human ear - turns out to be alright ... that or we have already adapted like cockroaches lol

Only one. Mine. Would be worried if there were more, since I don't have any close neighbours :)

6-10 i use wifi just for mobile devices and i set my router to 70% wifi and get constant 10 MB/s and good signal on wire i get over 900 Mbps.
The issue i have is with people who dont scan the channels and set the wifi power to 100% for small coverage area and for static devices they don
t consider a wired connection. I have wired connection for all my static devices.

I live in an apartment complex and it depends on my wifi receiver . I have a internal wifi card for my desktop and a laptop. I have up to like 20 or so with my laptop and on desktop I see 25-30 on average.

I still can't get over the fact that I detect 18 different wi-fi signals at my home. When I go elsewhere that number is mostly around 5.
Sometimes I feel like it's quite unhealthy, but then I tell myself that we are using the same kind of wavelength produced by the stars and there's millions of those already, so an extra 18 won't make a difference. I don't know how accurate that fact is though.
Anyway, I thought a little poll on the subject might be interesting to some people.
Also, there's no giveaway here, sorry.
