Hey guys, I did the GMG thingy 2 get mafia 2. Now i also want to play civ 5. If i win it on steamgifts and add it to my library and it's a key from there too, will i have to face any problems? I mean it wouldn't be legit to get both keys from there with diffrent emails.

Are there any restrictions ?

Like I said, the key you activate on steam (and the game) would not be revoked because they are completely different entities. you are fine.

I think he meant would they revoke his games on steam if he won a key from it on steamgifts.

Yeah, I think he's basically asking "Can GMG and/or Steam track keys if they want to, and would there potentially be any problems if someone had activated 2 keys originating from this promotion on their account?"

I doubt there would be any problems, but that's mainly an uninformed guess.

In general terms, I'd actually be interested to know who can find out what about keys and on which accounts they end up on etc. Can a retailer find out where the keys they sold go? Can a publisher? Can Steam find out which retailer keys came from and when they were issued etc?

The key from steam is disparate from any Greenman Gaming or third party offers so there wouldn't be any issues with doing that.

Gift friend a promotional free copy of a game you got/won. He also knew about this shops promotion and has gotten the other game from the promotion by himself without you knowing, so he got both of them now. --> FBI is going to knock at his doors minutes after activating the second key. He'll probably face a life-sentence. Could be worse if you ask me.
