Contributor status is based on how much you give back on steamgifts. So if you give something worth $9.99, then you are eligible for giveaways that require those who have to donate 9.99 worth of games.

As long as you have a few participants (more than 2, might be a higher limit than that, so if you have like 5 people in it at least you should be fine). This is to stop cheaters from making fake giveaways with an alt and stuff...
