Right, but as below, if you are sending DLC, for example, after they claimed the first key, and marked it as received, how would they know that you modified the key and are intentionally giving them something extra? I just don't want you to be magnanimous to the point where the other person doesn't even know about it and end up with a key in limbo...

You can always poke them in their previous public giveaways (if they have any), but I'm not exactly sure that a user who doesn't leave a comment of gratitude encourages that kind of extra effort. That said, if it hasn't changed, if you prefix with the humble gift url, you can attach anything you want to the end of it. (Hover for) Example 1, Example 2. Just gotta make sure the user in question doesn't misinterpret the key(s) as being an actual humble URL.
Moreover, I recall that I once used that method in the past as a "check your email!" notice for someone who didn't have any way of contacting them on-site and wasn't responding normally, so there's multiple potential applications for that workaround.

Modifying is "official" way to change key if previous was duplicate or if you want to send DLC etc. If you leave Steam key in plain text as a reply - someone may see it before the winner.
Just like other users pointed out - winner will not get notification about new key. So you need to poke them on SG or Steam.
You should hide user e-mail address on this screenshot though.

thank you.
i've never thought that tiny space as a way of sending another key, for something different too (not only for dlc but also a more secure, private way to "drop" a key. obv, you have to arrange it communicating with the old winner, but still an handy way, imo)
(screenshot data is completely fake/modified. can remove it, if needed, tho)

if it was marked received i don't think you can (no option). otherwise, you are free to do what you like as long as the winner get the game
you have a factory day ^_^

Happy cakeday icaio! Glad you already got your answer :)
I had the issue that one of my bundle keys got revoked once so I purchased another one (to avoid delay), changed it with that function and dropped a message that the guy could find a new key on bis GA won page (including a link to the "winners" page of the GA).

i'm allowed, once the giveaway has been marked as Received, to click on Modify and, say, send a second key?
edit: answer is YES
