Yesterday i accidently clicked a youtube button i didn't know exist, that it would stream from my pc to the tv, i don't have a chrome cast or whatever so i never expected that to work but it did.
However after every song it displays an ad and where you can block it easy on pc, i am looking if someone knows an easy way to block them on your tv?

[EDIT]: I also seem to have an nvidia shield pro if that might be better.

I wouldn't say it's easy, but if you can install SmartTube on your smart TV, then that is definitely the best way to watch Youtube on your TV. It blocks Youtube's ads and skips the ads that are in the videos themselves thanks to SponsorBlock integration.

See here for more information:

Thanks i quickly read about that yesterday, but would that work the same if i click the stream button on pc that it still opens up smarttube instead on my tv? Or is this all manual work on tv?

I'm not sure how the stream from PC button works. But I can cast from my phone to the TV without any ads.

I'm using a shield pro with smarttube as well, and it's def the way to go. I assume that if you have uBlock origin installed in your browser the ads will be skipped, but I don't have the cast button available to test.

Go to the settings of SmartTube, then About, then Enable global search and let it install the replacement bridge app
It should work with casting

Update: I just realized it won't install on some TVs with Google TV built in. Works fine with my shield and all my CCWGTV

SmartTube is great, you might also want to look at Grayjay which can cast to TV with the FCast Receiver app.

It's very easy, actually. Install Downloader by AFTVnews from the play store
Then type in the code 28544 to download it!

Why look for individual solutions for every piece of hardware if you could block ads for your complete network at router level?

You are right, I forgot that YouTube ads use the same domain as the non-ads.

The only way I'm familiar with for Android TVs is just using another Youtube apk such as NewPipe. NewPipe does not have all of the features that the native Youtube app has though. This will not override the ads from casting.

If you want to be more involved, then you can try to create an apk using Revanced which will patch your actual YouTube. It may be easier if you have an android phone to patch the apk and then drag it over to your android TV. This should remove ads when casting.

YouTube ReVanced for android https://revanced.app/ , it allows to authorize with your account and watch your bookmarked videos for example, which NewPipe doesn't have
You can install adblocker on Asus router with merlin firmware https://diversion.ch/

DNS ad blocker work for YouTube. But you can use NextDNS.io without having to modify your router, but it won't work for a lot of devices without a firewall since they usually have hard-coded DNS entries.
Best bet for YouTube is is SmartTube or ReVance / NewPipe like you suggested

If you can stream from Youtube to your TV, there's a chance you can stream your whole desktop to the TV via Miracast. Baiscally set up your TV to receive streaming (usually on "Sources" or in the Apps shelf), and then Ctrl+P and choose "Connect to Wireless Monitor" and you should be able to mirror your screen. That's how I do this here, hope it works for you

Thank you, i do have a nvidia shield pro too somewhere in a crate, haven't touched it like so many other things, but i also never had the proper tv for it or the room in my previous home, but most crates i can't empty under the bed drawers because i need someone to help me with.

I am guessing that could actually work as well, i always thought to use it more for streaming from external harddrives, but i am guessing you can also mess around with apps.

No worries. FWIW, I tried streaming games to the TV and the resolution / lag was all messed up. It's definitely not optimized for that. I still rely on good old HDMI cable for this use case. But if it's just streaming my desktop and wathcing videos, Miracast works nicely and it's really easy to launch
