If you've never been there, I suggest you to go in Sardegna (Sardinia), my homeland. Don't let the pics fool you, we have a lot more than just beaches and sea :)
If you prefer big cities I can suggest you Torino (Turin), which is where I live now. It has a lot of "good architectures" because the king of Italy lived here.
