Every time I open Dota 2 after a patch, I get this "Thanks, we banned someone"-message. If I report for feed, I only report intentional feed, that means, I'm not reporting a support Shadow Shaman with 15 deaths, but a 0-10 afk antimage picker. It should be clear what I mean. So, if you are just new, there is no way that you get banned if you at least try your best. But of course it would be good if you learn something about mechanics and hero strengths first. If you want to learn something, you should watch some International 3 games and use free camera e.g. on supports. You will learn where to place wards, what to buy (MEK!), how to stack creep camps and when you can pull which camp.

You're in a low matchmaking pool. Naturally, the other people you're playing with are in a low matchmaking pool either. Since they are, you can't expect them to understand how far good communication and a forgiving attitude towards team members can get you in a game structured on teamwork.

The thing about these types of games, its not that everyone just want to win, but its not really fun to keep dying, and dying, and dying to a feeded hero.
So this cause that an inexperienced player may make 4 more other people "lose" their fun/time.
Still, this is not the case for a report, I only report people who throw insults everywhere for the smallest mistake, or that just doesnt listen to the team and do what they want (this is a team-based game after all).
Still I really think this is a very difficult game to start, but I guess the best advice would be to practice with bots and check some tips on youtube or somewhere (something that teachs you about denying creeps, warding and all those tiny details).

if you want to learn the game, try co-op against bots, or watch some replays of certain heroes
"if I don't go to the way that other guys asks, every time, really, everybody says will report me" - you already said youre a noob, you dont play a hero the way you want, u must play it the way its supposed to be played
if you pick support, you better buy wards and support or else ure gonna get reported
you can ruin the match for the other 4 players, and they wasted an hour
this aint some casual game where u laugh about losing a match, after 1 hour
so yea, play bot co-op, watch other ppl playing, read some guides for each hero, learn the skills and items, after 100 matches of co-op try matchmaking again
or try LoL, its easier... huehue

^^ This again... Exactly.... your fun isn't always fun for the other 4 players who lose because you don't know how to play properly... Its a research heavy game, invest time to learn it or play something different. Its not a Call of duty where you can just roll a deathmatch for lols.

you cant laugh when you lose a game? wow the game must be pretty poor :D

Its not the fact of just losing... its when you lose due to someone who just outright can't play. Its not a short game, So spending an hour repeatedly dying because a team mate fed the enemy is NOT fun. And i'm 100% sure everyone would agree to that.

hm then i must be the only one thinking different. some years ago we did not report or ban people who were not that good or because they were new to the game. even if we lost a 2h match due to the fault of a few guys we just laughed at it because the match was fun. instead of reporting them we taught them how the game works and how to play in team. the community became really strange and unsocial today :/

not everyone is the worlds best gamer at the beginning. why dont you just let him learn how to play? if you dont wanna die that much you are free to leave whenever you want

no but i played lol for an hour and didnt like it so i wont like dota2. why do you ask? forces dota2 you to stay online and keep playing? :D

It puts you into a low-priority queue for 1 day if you leave a game, and that is a terrible place to be. On top of that, you might get reported and chat-muted, which is even worse. And, of course, leaving puts your team into terrible disadvantage, because disconnected players can't be replaced, so you're effectively ruining the game for your team.

Exactly this... There are many penalties for leaving games. Otherwise heck nobody would ever lose, they would just leave before the end if they was on the losing team. No one is stopping him from learning, but public match made games is not the way to start.

Dota 2 community mainly constists of scum, just like the communities of most f2p titles, because everyone can play them (especially kids) and bad behaviour can't be punished since a ban is not connected to a money loss

Not everyone...there's still a restriction since it's not fully open yet.
Comment has been collapsed.
That restriction is practically not existent. Every Dota 2 player has about 30 giftable copies by now, it's available at the market for 2 cents and the Dota 2 Dispenser gives them for free

I almost had that problem, because those small things killed me, several times, in a bot match, and 1 guy from my started saying that I was a noob and I should get out the server, stuff like that. then I said sorry, I agreed in him about being a noob, I was practicing. and another one helped me saying that a bot match it's for noobs to practice and learn how to play. I never played since, because my pc can't handle it :P

A few tips. 1 Stay behind the creeps. 2 Don't be agressive. 3. Watch Boss guide to hero from youtube. For example "Boss guide to Dragon Knight. They really helped me out. 4. Use builds. You can find them at the book button top left corner of the game. It tells you what skills to take and items to buy. You will eventually get DotA, don't worry! :)

Find some good/friendly people to play with, essentially in the same (Dota 2) level as you... Practice with Bots, Play Co-op bot games to hone your skills...
There are always bad apples in every game... So try to make some good friends and have fun...
Good luck :D
Also, add me if you want... I don't rage + am somewhat new to Dota2 :D

Hi!
Yeah, I know I don't post too much in the forum, but I have to ask to all people here about this.
I Don't even know if it's about the curse of BRBRBR of my country. But I'm noob,I recognize that, and I just try every time to learn the basics of this game (Dota 2 in the case), and every time I've played by bot, or solo (not even a ranked game), if I don't go to the way that other guys asks, every time, really, everybody says will report me. And when you ask why, he says because I don't know play with the char, or something like that.
and the main question is... in recent times, it's a crime to not know playing a game and you can be reported just for learning to play a game? Or this is really the curse of my country?
