Since I didn't see this glorious game included in this topic, I decided to make a giveaway for it.

Sorry, putting a high level on this one.

My retarded government is just about voting on a proposal to handle LBGT+ discussions with kids as a pedophile act. Also you can't show any other orientation to kids (age 18-) than straight. You can't discuss anything around the subject in schools as well.
While i'm not personally impacted i hate to realize how deeply it might affect certain people. I feel for you all!
Happy Pride month.

Right. Because talking about it is what gives kids the idea to be anything other than straight. hard eyeroll
We are closing in to an election so stupidity leveles are going out the roof now.
You would think election years are when politicians try to look smart but nope, that's when they try to look as dumb as their base.

This case has a little more depth into it though, they unfortunately timed their move very well.
In Hungary, there has been a pretty huge outrage with public demonstrations about the planned Fudan campus, which Orban wants to fund via a huge Chinese loan, and wants to do so on a place of another, much more popular project which was already well-planned and agreed on.
As sad as it is, about 30-40% of the Hungarian population is still mostly homophobic. Maybe not this homophobic, but they wouldn't oppose such ideas publicly, and this distracts their attention from the case of Fudan. Also, it helped them divide the Hungarian opposition a little, which is already in pretty unstable alliance at best.
So in short, they sacrificed a few innocent people, hoping they'll have some more chance to steal more than they already have (which is a huge amount).

The usual then. Who cares about hurting people if you can distract voters and media from corruption and other issues by dangling something shiny in front of them?
Happy Pride month indeed.
I know there will still be brave souls risking being clubbed by the law just to talk to kids and listen to them. Still, it's not fair that they have to pick between safety and openness and it's certainly not fair the kids who are not lucky enough to come into contact with brave educators, counselors, or with family members who are willing to risk themselves, will grow up with the idea that there is something wrong with them.

Welcome to the club! We've already got the same ugly law (because obviously as soon as a straight teenager hears about homosexual love being normal, they magically transform into a homosexual, this logic is perfectly valid, yeah). I was under an impression that Hungary was more civilized than Russia, but here we go. And yes, I'm not influenced personally as well, but this law basically forbids me to talk to my little niece and nephew about certain topics (and what if they turn out to be not so straight or cis after all? Am I supposed to refrain from supporting them?)

I feel you. My nephew and niece are all questions during Pride Month. They are curious kids, no matter what they turn out to be themselves. And it's just not right that you have to censor yourself when it comes to life and love.
I honestly doubt they can even enforce laws like that (except ofc when it comes to teachers because you just know there's going to be one parent out there reporting them to the fuzz if they talk to kids) but they don't care, do they? They scare people, that's the goal.

You really should be informed for real, not just by propagandist. Best thing you could do, the same i do, is to check the lies of the radical rightists, then the lies of the radical leftists (objective news not existing anymore, everything is in the hands of one of those sides), and after the 2 propaganda you might figure out some truth for yourself.
Literally noone was reading the law, not even EU politicians, they attacking Hungary only because they belong to the left political side, and the gov. of Hungary on the right political side. Whatever this means, politicians (none of them, side doesn't matter) will never understand that the world is not black or white, it is colorful.
Their problem with the law (ofc they scale it up and say it is about restricting human rights and blablabla) that "entertaining artists" won't be allowed to brainwash 6 years old kids how cool is the LGBT and sell it to them as an utopian idea, like how it is started to happen very recently on small kid TV channels. It is also a not banned theme for kids, adults can talk about it with them, their parents, relatives and in school the experts, and again, EXPERTS, kid psychologists not "entertaining artists", and they should get objective information to decide what they want.
Russia dont have Pride events, in the upcoming events link which is also on this topic you can find the Pride at Budapest, Hungary, on 3rd July.
That not change the fact that i still hate my own GOV too, but there are no available choices, the opposition just as bad, full with liars, racists and thieves, just like whole EU and probably every single country.

I am not familiar with the programming of Hungarian tv for kids but I don't really see what harm it can cause a kid or society in general to tell kids from an early age that there is nothing wrong in being who they are, or anyone else being who they are for that matter, and promoting information, tolerance and understanding. If the people behind the law are under the impression it makes kids want to be gay, they really need a little more information themselves about the whole thing.

I hear you didn't read the legislation. Well, you can.
Here is a part of it:
βE tΓΆrvΓ©nyben foglalt cΓ©lok Γ©s a gyermekek vΓ©delme Γ©rdekΓ©ben tilos tizennyolc Γ©ven aluliak szΓ‘mΓ‘ra (β¦) olyan tartalmat elΓ©rhetΕvΓ© tenni, amely a szexualitΓ‘st ΓΆncΓ©lΓΊan Γ‘brΓ‘zolja, illetve a szΓΌletΓ©si nemnek megfelelΕ ΓΆnazonossΓ‘gtΓ³l valΓ³ eltΓ©rΓ©st, a nem megvΓ‘ltoztatΓ‘sΓ‘t, valamint a homoszexualitΓ‘st nΓ©pszerΕ±sΓti, jelenΓti megβ. There is also a "btk" (for acceptable and minimal sentences) reference.
It's hard to explain other way i guess.

My soccer loving gf just sent me an article about the whole Euro rainbow flag controversy before the game between Germany and Hungary (those are a number of words I'd never thought I'd say in the same sentence) and Orban's quote would have made me laugh out loud if the whole thing wasn't so sad.
"While homosexual people were persecuted in Hungary under the communist leadership, today the state does not only guarantee their freedoms but also actively protects their rights."
Right. They are totally free to well... exist... as long as they can't be seen or heard and they don't spread their homosexual germs or something...

Our govt. has a confusing way or doing things: it does shamlessly anything but would than stand up and say the opposite to EU and sometimes to our people. Eventhough EU knows about it can't do anything about it. As long as anyone keeps saying something they tend to accept if you do the opposite. Sad, i know.
