Alice had seated herself on the bank of a little brook, with the great dish on her knees, and was sawing away diligently with the knife. It’s very provoking!’ she said, in reply to the Lion (she was getting quite used to being called
the Monster’). `I’ve cut several slices already, but they always join on again!’
You don’t know how to manage Looking-glass cakes,’ the Unicorn remarked.
Hand it round first, and cut it afterwards.’
This sounded nonsense, but Alice very obediently got up, and carried the dish round, and the cake divided itself into three pieces as she did so. `now cut it up,’ said the Lion, as she returned to her place with the empty dish. - Alice-in-wonderland.net

"Huge fan"? I've only done two so far :P You must have traveled into the future and seen my plans to do this on a regular basis ;)
As far as the topic is concerned I'd prefer to keep it private. It has to do with some tangled up family drama from the past with some remnants here in the present that are best left out of conversation. Not to be impolite but that's all I feel comfortable saying.
Maybe I'll tweak my story a bit so others don't get too curious.

Don't worry, I was just too curious probably. ;) Truth to be told, though, and as you admit, the way in which the story is told contributes to that curiosity. Haha.
As for the number of stories... They are so good I have become a fan of them after reading just two. :P

No, you're right. I told the story in a way that "begged the question." And I should have considered that when putting it together. It took your asking about it for me to realize I'd made a mistake. Thank you for that :) I'll be a bit more attentive to that in the future. To paraphrase: I don't mind being a little personal in my stories but I avoid revealing anything private. I don't who said it or where I picked up this bit of advice but I've always found it good solid advice for how to conduct myself on the internet.

Hi all. Time for another story.
I had my birthday this past weekend but there were just too many people here to get enough free time to make a thread about it and put together a train. With so many people here space was at a premium. 10 years ago this situation may have led to a rumble between my sister and mother. They used to go head to head a lot but they have made their peace over the years. As a family we still have some healthy disagreements with one another on various topics, but life would be boring if we all thought the same ;)
