This is a group of enthusiasts that give their computing power of CPU & GPU to some general charity of finding out cures for diseases or helping understand climate change. We have finished most of the computations for Human genome project, been fighting for years different kinds of cancer, AIDS, malaria, lyme & many other neglected & deadly diseases. Recently we have been engaged in fighting Ebola & Zika virus, to find cure for that disease.
Anybody interested can join in on the link here: http://www.tinyurl.com/WCGinvite
On site there's so much information about the non-profit organisation World Community Grid, which is just a link between a science projects & normal users. There's also a nice forum, where you can find out most of the questions that you need to ask.
We also made a STEAM group here: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/WCGrid
Where we from time to time play some games, talk & acknowledge our donations in form of computer power to WCG (& other BOINC project).
If you have some questions, I'd be happy to answer.
