When the game was still Closed Alpha these were the only way that you could get it. I don't know why they would still be included with the other DI games since it's now Open Beta. I guess they haven't been removed from the packages yet. That may be intended though as a way to get those few that doesn't know it exists to give it a try.
You can always dump them to one of the many trashbots in the Market. I use this one.
