Nah that is not how it works.
The game would give you 3 points - regardless of how much money you spent. BUT games that have had a sale (at any time) of approx. 95% or more will only be worth 15% of the points (from then on). So for an 3P (=3$) game where the price was ~15 cent, you would only get a fraction of 1P. You should read the FAQ and also search the discussions about "bundled games" to learn more.

Im sure this is totally fine right? Buy a game when its $0.25 and normally priced at $2.99 and you will earn more on a giveaway if you wait for that sale to be over right?
