I doubt the TV series of The Walking Dead is similar to Telltale as i am pretty sure they are of totally different timelines. TV series is about how they came together and do stuff but the game version is about how they started out individually before that, but there are parts that foreshadow the TV series :D. Never played the Telltale games before but have watched the TV series, hopes this helps.
