Sounds about right. Quite a bit of the trash games got 'gutted'.

I believe so. I dropped 3000 achievements and around 15 perfect games. I think it's the ones from the developers of Zombie Boom etc.that had silly numbers of achievements that took no effort. They were delisted years ago but they still counted as far as I remember.

yep, for some days already, i think that its related to deleted games and how they counts, or mb im wrong .

The Nazgul attacking the Hobbits on Amon Sul (Weathertop - AKA that one hill) in the first LotR movie is the mental image I get when I think of Steam coming for that last game. XD

Ohhh nice info. So these 5000k Achivement Spamer gone or has lesser number of Achivements.
Good to give achievments on Steam more value.

Agreed. Hello by the way, I took a bundle split from you not long ago (Fanatical VR) and didn't realize you are on SG :)

I think for me Heaven Island VR MMO was removed from my perfect games list (and from Steam itself??) and I'm not sure why because the game is just an ugly tropical island you walk around on and do nothing else. It has 12 achievements so it's not achievement spam, and it's not offensive since the only thing you can do in the game is walk around and pick up seashells and apples. I wonder what exactly has happened here?
Comment has been collapsed.
https://steam.madjoki.com/apps/banned Even a game like Sin Slayers too (was in a recent bundle, me and someone else questioned as to why but noone seemed to be able to answer that).
I went from 100k to 30k, that's not simply from some recent removed games.

Maybe a general change in how achievements and perfect games are counted then? Like removed games not counting anymore, I could be wrong though, this was the only game affecting me and apparently it was banned 3 months ago (I never noticed!)
Comment has been collapsed.
I think in a way yes.
Although on astats i got:
244 games completed 100%.
26 at 100% now removed from the store.
On steam it showed before like 174 or something i think, and now 154, unless astats is incorrect, but it doesn't even come close to be slightly off.

I was wondering the same thing the other day but one user on here said
When games are released on the Chinese Steam version, they get falsely flagged as banned by Steam for a while now. These have to be removed manually and Madjoki might have overlooked that one.
Comment has been collapsed.
Games can be delisted for reasons other than their contents, the most common being that another of the developer's games or their actions got them banned from the Steam ecosystem
I looked up the developer and I don't see any mention of it, but all his games got delisted two months ago
Could be anything from tax issues to review manipulation

There's probably something below the surface then, I don't think games get removed purely because they're shit :D
Comment has been collapsed.
I know, but it's just not always the hentai games, and often also games you would think there is nothing wrong with, i think all in all steam even bought a bigger broom to clean their stuff up.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Sinslayers/comments/lthf5m/removed_from_steam/ some vague post that they would fix it..

I checked... Yes it seem Steam have removed Multiple game-achievements...

I agree that every once in a while it's nice to play a game away from the distraction that are achievements, but I also love the feeling of getting discrete markers of my in game progression.
However I have no clue of how many of the damn things I've actually gotten throughout the years so I could be missing a bunch and not realize, I only remember the ones I went out of my way to get.
Comment has been collapsed.
This has been common for nearly 2 years now. Steam will ban the obvious asset flip games after they allow them to be sold for a few months. Thats why I don't buy bundles with those developers, and eventually indiegala and other sites won't support those games if they don't sell any keys for it.
I didn't lose a single game or achievement during this Steam Api banwave. Before I would lose 10-50 games each banwave.
Comment has been collapsed.
But that's not it, i am on steam every single day and i went from 100k+ to 30k achievements, lost atleast 20-25 perfect games in a single day (or two). Maybe that guy in specific hasn't checked for a year, but still people seemingly can be losing 100 thousands of achievements.
And this guy. https://www.steamgifts.com/go/comment/DfsGexn

yeah you got a point here was looking to deep into the guy .
but overall it might be alot of stuff combined .
i mean some games im playing dont show as playing at all in steam lately if i have (-no steam in advanced settings and have another game running like Black desert online in the background(No steam version)) .

At some point when I was younger I might have cared. However I have learned such trivial things mean nothing. They are invisible and mean nothing.

This is entirely off-topic, and I apologize for that, but I just have to say it:
Every time I see your avatar I think it's a picture or Norbert from Angry Beavers, and every time I need to remind myself that it's actually not.
Have I said this before? I hope not >>

Haha, I'm honored! That was one of my favorites, such a unique oddball show. Might have to dig up some episodes for science!

I loved that show so much growing up <3
I actually bought the box set a few years ago and dig it out every now and then for some nostalgia~

And removed games, the ones from a big, well know company like 2k, Codemasters, little orbit?
They will counting on archivments scores?
Sadly the 1000's fake games achievements series are gone from my profile, hahahaha.

I know very little right now (expected more people to get "upset" about it or atleast question it) but there is someone that said this on the reddit.
Seems to make sense as steam would have to differentiate then and where to begin for them? Rather then just taking a big broom to clean things up.
"-TotallyRealName 23 hours ago
Finally. Glad to see valve doing something about this issue.
But this also has a negative effect. There are some good, legit games which were removed (for other reasons like expired license) so it's a shame they don't count anymore."
Comment has been collapsed.
Good thing I didn't even know how many perfect games I had, so I'll never know how much I've lost 🤣
Also it's good for my collectionitis of games in general. The last time Steam removed the game countings I've lost over 200 games, and since it's easier to lose them than to get them (most of them were freebies from various sites), I'll only focus on games with a count and/or cards.
Comment has been collapsed.
according to completionist.me, i 'lost' 4 achievements and 1 perfect game. not sure which game it was. for some reason, the numbers on my steam profile differ slightly, but i don't keep track of them on there. total games on my steam profile also dropped by about 200. i ignore poopie games anyway so this doesn't really affect me.
Comment has been collapsed.
It was expected to happen sooner or later and it is a good, lovely patch.
Now hoarders need to think twice about supporting few minutes long craps which just selling achievements, but actually these horders are the responsible for the removals too, i guess. Many of them refund the game after got their achievements and too many % refunds might make games banned by steam? Just a guess.
As far as i know steam mostly ban only those developers, who exploiting review system to make their games to reach 10 reviews or have positive review value, but looks like they dont catch all, probably only those who doing it from same IP as there are lot of shovelware with positive/very positive reviews and unlikely those are from real people.
Comment has been collapsed.
Good riddance. More than half of those were some Russian shovelware where you'd get 100% just by idling on the main menu for 5 minutes and voila - 300 achievements unlocked. I mean, if people think that they achieved something that way, I'm not sure what to say then.
Comment has been collapsed.
yeah i never understood it. i like collecting achievements, but it's hard to feel good about 100%ing a game that just hands you a couple thousand achievements for doing virtually nothing.
Comment has been collapsed.
From what I've seen Steam is just hitting titles on it's banned list, so any of your games on here (link copied from Lugum's post):
https://steam.madjoki.com/apps/banned
May have stopped counting. Ofc there's exceptions (most likely missed games if I had to guess) as some people have mentioned, but that should give you a general idea at least. I've not had any issues myself though, so haven't been following details too much (I hide GA's for most those games that I see on SG).

Went from 100k to 31k achievements on my steam profile, did they remove the count from them "rubbish" games?
Also about 20-25 perfect games are removed and average games played count also lowered.

Quoted from Reddit: JonP_valve Valve Employee x hours ago
"I think what you're seeing here is a visibility fix for games that were already banned. These were erroneously not removed from some profile-visible features when banned. That bug was fixed with a server update yesterday.
Note this only applies to games that were banned - games that are retired at the request of a publisher or developer are unaffected."
If your profile seems unchanged make sure to have atleast 1 new achievement after the update date.
You can't also show those removed achievements in your showcase anymore.
