Single player open world zombie games?

Slaughtering Grounds? I heard it's a really cool game and has awesome support team.

State of Decay doesn't have online.

State of Decay is not an online game. It is single-player, and sounds exactly like what you're looking for.

Just to confirm, in Dead Island you can set the campaign in the Options to play it as Single Player. That's what do. Open world, many and beautiful detailed places to visit, good amount of missions, thousands of zombies, and zero annoying players in your way... Completely alone (:P). One of my favorites games ^_^

Well, this is not open world, but it is by far the best zombie game you will ever play

Telltale's The Walking Dead

You will cry if you play this game, and you will cry even more if you play season 2.

Don't confuse this game with The walking dead: Survival Instinct, that game is an abomination.

7 Days 2 Die has a single player mode, though there isn't anything to really do progression wise. Once you craft/find the best stuff all you can do is build a base. Still fun though :P

"Zafehouse: Diaries" might work. Also, "Project Zomboid".

Of course, I'll always recommend Telltale's TWD Season 1 if you want a good story focused zombie game.

I would say that Contagion is more a multi-player game, but it can also be played single-player.

How about How To Survive? It's not fantastic but I enjoyed it enough on Steam to buy it on sale from the PSN Store...

Single player, open world, zombie? It's not PC, but Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare. Zombie people, zombie animals, settlement defense... Whole lot of stuff to do.

Unturned , it might not have the best graphics, but it has a solid open world game, a bit hardcore, is like dayz but free. plus it has a beta right now with more functions (it also haves multiplayer too, but the offline is the best)

Not really a Zombie game, but S.T.A.L.K.E.R is worth a look!

I'm sure you're aware of these, and they aren't really "zombie games"... but Fallout 3 and/or Fallout New Vegas have single player and open world down pat. And the mutants are pretty close to zombies. XD
