Hey guys anyone that has made giveaways and there is a winner don't you sometimes hate it when it takes so very long for the winner to add you and also not bother replying when added. I sometimes wonder why bother joining the giveaway. Anyone else feel the same?

This is what I should do from now on. I haven't done it ever but I like this. I usually preferred to give it to the person right away. Heck one winner took me for a five day wait till they finally showed up.

Most of my giveaways are for closed groups so I usually know the person I'm sending it to so its a little easier

Have you seen New Gifter's Guide To Gifting from FAQ, "Sending the gift" section?
It is you who should be sending the gift or adding the winner (Unless you specify in your giveaway's description that the winner has to add you instead.) The winner should just wait for the game to be delivered, they only add you because it's you who take too long to send their gift to them.
Emailing gifts on Steam is even easier, whenever the person redeems your gift, they're added to your friends list automatically, so there's no need for the gifter to add them.

Me? lol as soon as there is a winner I go to their steam page and add them so I can give it to them that's how I do it so it is THEM who make me wait.

You send the gift to their e-mail. If they don't claim it in a week, ask for a re-roll. That's how I've been doing it.

It makes me mad when they keep trying to contact you when you already emailed the game to them.

Some of us visit this site every day. Some of us leave our steam friends on all the time. Some of us speak the same languages as those who give out the games we win.

Some of us don't.

Ignorant gifters: Hey guys dont you hate when people make giveaways for separated keys from indie bundles? seems like some people don't like to read the rules :(

how nice of you at least I'm nice enough to give it away to some who wants it but not to worry won't be doing that anymore.

But you broke the rules, that isn't nice at all.

Do not submit individual games from indie game bundles, e.g. Humble Bundle, Indie Royale, etc.

After your giveaway has ended, the winner will show up on your created giveaways page. You have one of two options when sending the gift...
Option 1: Copy the winner's email address (blacked out for privacy), head over to your inventory, select the prize and click 'send gift', and paste in the email address from your created giveaways page.
Option 2: Add the winner to your friends list, and invite him or her to a trade when you're both online.

People have been telling you and reporting your giveaways, warning you that it is against site rules to post keys from bundles. Yet you've kept doing it. Whether you think it is a dumb rule or not, it is the rules, and you must obey them. You account can/will get suspended, or worse, banned.

In my opinnion this rule make no sense at all. I mean, acording to the rules you MUST claim the game you won, if it is a key from a bundle or a steam item IT DOES NOT MATTER! you gotta claim the game anyway and it will be added to your account just like it has been bought from steam.

You can discuss that here

you pay 1-2$ for a game and here you get 5$ contribution for that same game , cheating for contribution dewd

so this logic means that im cheating for contribution by buying something on sale 75% off and posting it as a giveaway on here?

Bundles can be bought for $1 whilst the games contained therein are worth more, thus "boosting" the contributor value. Giving away the whole bundle is fine.

Ah, apparently, that's where the misunderstanding comes from, this person didn't read the FAQ, it seems.

I always email the game, if that fails I send it to them on steam.

Never had an issue, only ever did one public though...

Give them time, that's how I do it.

This is funny. Someone made a thread a few days ago complaining about rude winners who dared to add the maker of the giveaway. Now is the opposite.

As a winner I'd be so effing confused

Yeah, some people are assholes. Nevermind the massive power outages, fires\floods, or silly day to day things that keep people from rushing onto steam to add you right away when they have a week. Bastards.

well, its rude if they just add you right after they win saying "gimme the game, gimme the game"

Giveaway creators with no proper giveaway description are the real pricks if you ask me, the least you could do in order to prevent confusion is to make a proper description, say, state if you will add the winner, if the winner should add you or if you send it by email. I mean come on..
