InBuilt private messaging system

just wondering why isn't there any built in private messaging system in the forums? (especially steam trades where i need to get everyone in 1 group to message them keys and stuff on steam?)
it's not that hard to make and every other forum site has one, so i'm just asking why in the forum where it's so critical it doesn't exist?

11:00am - Tea time with biscuits

1:30pm - Lunch Buffet

3:30pm - Spa and full body massage

7:00pm - My choice of Wine, delivered

Plus every Wednesday one of the "staff" comes around and cleans my house. Takes a whole day to complete, but they aim to please.

Sounds like it would be difficult to maintain, maybe even implement properly (given the lack of staff). Despite having studied web design (for a short time) I find myself without accurate information to give you. So I apologise for that!

Well, it requires resources. I don't think there's another reason for not doing it as it should be fairly simple to implement.
