sorry, i cant seem to get rid of the example on the page. i dont see any X to close and clicking anywhere else doesnt do much either... hence i cant get to the wordle itself

You mean the tutorial page? This wordle game has to be created by authors, and they need to share a link. The tutorial is just to help creators understand how it works. All the links in this table should point you to real puzzles though. If I didn't understand correctly, let me know and share a link or screenshot so I can assist you better!

yeah, sadly each and every link wheather to the puzzle itself or elsewhere has the example (of how wordle works) up for me. it has "ROGUE"; "LIGHT" and "GAMES" as examples listed with the explanation what the colors mean.

Made me realize the UX isnβt so good when you canβt get a word and then it rotates to the next, so once youβre back to that previous word you donβt have the cues for what you already tried before. Iβll fix that, make it like an infinite tries mode instead and only jump to the next word once the previous one is done.

You have to add to a steamgifts giveaway URL: e.g. /giveaway/the-code-here
But people might do puzzles differently and the code could actually be related to something else

It's a fun game. I know it from a children's board game for two players, where you had to guess a combination of colors instead of words. I think it might be a bit challenging for non-native English speakers, and I'd increase the number of tries to at least six. But seven would be better - seven is the magic number, right? (ΰ©βΛα΅Λ)ΰ© β.β©.*β
However, this is not criticism, and five is also good. It is just my habit to make the task easier and help the participants when composing riddles. (γ₯ΰΉβα΄βΰΉ)γ₯β‘

Yeah, it can be challenging, but even if you fail, you can try again. And the words are the same, so you now eliminated a lot of letters, which makes it easier... π€π

To be honest I've been thinking that the UX isn't that great when you fail the word. Perhaps I should make it so that you have infinite attempts until you get the word right? And only then move onto the next word? I'm not sure..

I like the way it is now, cause we need to use our memory as well... Gives a bit of a challenge... Would be even better if the puzzle would lock if you dont get it... Not sure if thats possible to make. + if it is, then yeah you could increase the amount of attemts to 10 maybe... π€π

Totally possible to implement different modes defined by the author, like number of tries, infinite mode, etc.
I feel like a puzzle where you lose and get locked will bring frustration to people, which goes against the intention of it hehe

I agree. In the end, this game does not have a perfect solution and depends to some extent on random - everything is decided by the word the participant chooses, so the number of attempts can vary greatly. Sometimes the word is guessed quickly, and sometimes - much longer.
But the game is still great. Makes you think, but doesn't make the task impossible.

Yeah, might be frustrating, but so is everything in life... I mean even wordle... I cannot tell you how many times I lost a good streak, cause I was unlucky... It happens sometimes. But life goes on... π

I love when the community does puzzles, and I think it's nice when we keeps things fresh. So when I participate at events I normally try to come up with something new!
In the latest train from The Giveaways Club people seemed to have liked the Wordle-based puzzle I made, and mentioned it would be nice to be able to create their own (thanks Foxmonster for the nudge and idea!).
So here you go, I present you SG Wordle: https://sg-wordle.netlify.app/. It has a tutorial to show how it looks like before you create your own puzzle.
How it works
For creators, you can can create your own Wordle-like puzzle at https://sg-wordle.netlify.app/create, and define from 1 to 5 words, plus the secret which will be shown when people solve it. People who solve it can share their attempts (without showing any spoilers or links) so others can see how they solved the puzzles. The words will be displayed in order, but they will be selected randomly for people to solve to keep the game a little more dynamic.
For players, you will get to solve the puzzle, and once it's solved, you get the secret (giveaway code, sgtools link, or anything else the puzzle authors decide). For anyone who has never played Wordle, this is inspired by https://www.nytimes.com/games/wordle. It's a nice, daily puzzle to spend a few minutes in, and end up improving your vocabulary.
In the attached image you will see how it looks like in SG Wordle.
