[SKIP] This bundle does a great Injustice to the name of bundles!
[TOO EXPENSIVE] WB has been watching too many of their own Looney Toons if they think this is good value
[OWN] There is already a shadow of war hanging over my library
[TIER 1] I can't wait to play the worlds coolest superhero! Rorschach, here I come!
[TIER 2] I f.e.a.r that I'm back 4 blood, gather the gotham knights for the time has come for Mortal Kombat!
[GROUP BUY] I'm morbidly curious about suicide squad, I mean how bad can it be?

Bought 3 copies of Tier 2. Considering buying more. This deal is incredible! Thanks for the thread!

So value wise, especially for giveaways, this would be a great bundle..?

Yes and no ... great value and games that will be in high demand. The value for giveaways here will be nerfed since they're in a bundle.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

So the value would be inherent in regards to like trading and resale?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I don't know about resale value, you should check the group buys and grey market sites to see the game prices.

Regarding trading, the games have been bundled quite a few times (especially Tier1) so they should still be widely available. A nice indicator for this is the "Have/Want" ratio you might find in trading sites.

Usually two sets is the limit, careful on that. The system will allow you to buy more but eventually may ban you.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

most of the times it's 6 sets per payment methods but the worthy ones usually set a limit of 2 per payment method so you can easily get 5 batches if you have say amazon, paypal, instant paypal and 2 cards, so either 10 or 30 total.

Hmmm, once I was buying a bundle a second time but was stopped by "Phone Verification" page. I entered my phone number, but Humble was giving me errors (for some reasong it didn't like my country code). So I decided to start from scratch and simply repeated my order using another payment method... Long story short.

I got suspended for trying to buy that bundle 3 times even though factually I only got 1. Humble support shrug me off with "it's how fraud prevention system works", apparently they couldn't do anything until its timer run off. They told me to wait but didn't give me any time range. So...

Suspencion lasted at least 5 months. I don't know for sure. Maybe everytime I tried to buy I resetted that damned timer. But for 5 months my orders was auto-cancelled with support feeding me same robotic:

"There appears to be some suspicious activity associated with this account that directly violates our Terms of Service. Due to this, future purchasing on this account has been suspended. I am unable to lift the suspension or offer any other information at this time.
I apologize for the inconvenience, but hope you have a nice day."

Wait, so they unban you after 5 months? How do you do it? I was in the same situation and my old account still got restricted until this day.

Comment has been collapsed.

I wish I know for sure what worked!
I can only give my intutive guesses:

  1. I waited long enough to untrigger their "anti-fraud" system.
  2. After 5 months my annual Choice plan was up, so I wrote a ticket to support dealing with this and not usual "Failed Payment". After that my "suspension" was lifted. I can only imagine they are different people with different instructions and maybe even with more broad capabilities. Once that support gave me link to my Choices, I was able to buy all other bundles.

I have all of these, so I don’t know the exact regional restrictions, but most of the games seem to repeat the same locks as the previous WB bundles.

SSQL (in a similar fashion to GK) is particularly heavy on locks. I guess WB believes almost every country in the world shouldn’t be able to try their damn €3 slog.

I think pre-2013 games are unrestricted, including Watchmen, Arkham City, Arkham Asylum, and FEAR.

Aside from B4B, most of the games are shared between EU and NA.

Got it mainly for a second Gotham Knights copy so I can play co-op with my younger brother or nephew and wanted Suicide Squad because I have the Epic Games Amazon Prime one but would prefer it on Steam (just Googled it and SS has cross play so can also play that with someone too now!).

Back 4 Blood also has co-op that needs another copy for anyone wondering about co-op games / wanting another copy of the bundle.

Went to check the fighting games and only Injustice 1 doesn't have Remote Play Together listed; so the other 3 can be played with a friend over the internet with just a single copy of the game.

Yes and no, GK was not locked and now is (it's a long list but you can frame it as EU+NA). SSQL is new to bundle and is pretty much the same.
The rest are pretty much the same but this time there are locks to Shadow of War as well.

  • Most of these go on sale for sub -$5, but even if you own a handful it's still an excellent deal.

  • You can't completely cut Humble's cut, but if you've been less than impressed with modern WB's business practices, you can slide the contribution to them all the way to $0

  • Probably goes without saying at this point, but all the games are single keys. If you just want DLC for a game you own, you're not getting a base game key separately from the DLC content.

  • A few of these games from the golden years of WB Games have native Linux builds. You're probably better off switching to Proton if you're a Linux or Steam Deck user as these builds are ancient and unmaintained, which is much more of a concern for the average Linux game than it is for Windows.

Why would you completely cut Humble's cut when it's them bringing you the bundle?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Do you really not understand why or are you jabbing this guy? Honestly want to know.

Not giving someone or something a cut shows displeasure for associated activities of that entity, even if not directly related to the immediate situation. It's a form of protest. Money talks. Also, in the past, Humble used to let buyers not give them a cut if they desired - the main goal was just raising money for charities. If you don't agree with that form of protest, you're free to give them extra to compensate for others lowering their cut.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I find it ridiculous to complain that Humble gets some of the money, when they are the ones bringing the bundle to us, that's all. And it's not even a big cut, but for some reason there are people bothered by this, forgetting there are people that work to bring these bundles to us. If people really want to protest, they shouldn't buy bundles at all from Humble, being tainted and all...

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I do agree, the best way to protest is not to use the service at all. If no one visits your store because your policies are crap, then either you fix the issues or you go under. Protesting by not giving a payment is pretty much just symbolic, especially when a company like HB can standardise what they get for income, regardless of what a customer wants to do (example, changing from allowing no cut to a minimum cut on bundles).

I Don't know if FEGuy has been around since those days of excluding HB's cut, but if it was something that was an option for him then, and now it isn't, its still valid to reference the ability or lack thereof. I don't see him complaining, just stating the limits of what you can and cannot do. Sure it makes it sound like he would rather not give cash, but he's not making a stink about it. If he said something like "screw HB and they don't deserve any payment for this bundle!" then yea, that's a complaint and not very constructive - but it wasn't worded that way.

In the past HB didn't mind getting a cut, they would allow us to send them $0. The decision makers that dictate HB's pricing is in their control. They decided that model of being cut out didn't work for them, so now they set a minimum. Ever notice, though, that they don't ever set their cut to the minimum available, and give themselves a nice hearty dose of 30% of the purchase (and charity only gets 5%)? Sure it's not the majority of the purchase, but I wouldn't call it a small cut either.

According to a quick search, its estimated that HB brings in over $200,000 revenue per each of the 114 employees. With that said, when is too much income too much to you, and when is too little income too little to you? You're championing for HB here, but the employees are probably bringing in more than you do per year, and they don't even know you exist (not trying to be rude here, just putting it out there that's most likely the case - and if you are making a lot of cash for income - congrats, you are in the minority). Are you really that offended by what FEGuy having all that put out in front of you like this in regards to those numbers and facts?

How about the publishers? Those companies worked hard to get those games out, so when FEGuy tells us that we can set their cut to $0 - that doesn't offend you enough to comment on that? Why - because that's acceptable to you? Come on Atombomb, you can't be outspoken about one and not the other without looking a bit biased there.

In regards to not using a service - think of it this way - its one of the few places a person can get decent games at a cheap price. If there were even 10 stores out there offering the same deals with the same games, I'm sure those people would not buy at HB. But, when you're low on choice and one wants the products, then it doesn't become a choice. It becomes buy and have or go without.

Its like saying don't use Facebook if you don't agree with what they're doing with their platform. Yeah, easier said than done, especially if all of your friends and family are using it for communication and staying in touch.

Or maybe Steam - don't like the way they re-implemented family sharing? Well don't use Steam.

It ends up being easy to go black and white on these things, but its a lot harder when you start looking at all the shades of grey in-between and realise its a calculated and thoughtful decision by users whether its worth interacting with those services or going without. I don't think not wanting to support a company for certain practices, but using their services in reluctance really is that ridiculous - I think sometimes it has to be necessary.

Hey, none of us have to agree on any of it, that's the wonderful freedom of life.

Humble is the seller, it has some rules and when people buy from them, they have to accept these rules. People buy from Humble, but would like for them not to get a cut, because they don't like some of their rules? This doesn't make any sense.
And Humble is not a vital service, like Facebook or Steam, as it doesn't really stand between you and the game(s) you want to play, so it can be avoided all-together.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Hey I feel you, if it's a service they're offering, and they set a standard minimum, not much to complain about. The only exception I can say is that they aren't upfront with selling game keys and not informing users that they aren't available at purchase. That's enough to irk some customers, especially new ones.

I'd disagree with Steam being a vital service since we have GOG and Epic, as we can still get many of the same games but I do see your point.

It's a shame they started charging for taxes (where i live the price is 8.33 usd for Tier 1, and 14.28 usd for Tier 2), so 19% more in my case :(

EDIT: I'm from Chile for those wondering.
