Monthly in a Month #6: The Candy edition

awesome game you've picked once again! No time this month so I'll have to pass this time though...

I somehow missed last month, but I'm going to join this one. Thanks for the event!

I'm gonna try anyway, even if I don't enter for the giveaway :)

Decided to end on Spyro, which, although a big game, is also part of my current PoP cycle, so I have two reasons to beat it :)

I buyed Horizon Zero Dawn, basically because my last Play Station was PS2, Im plaiyng it, and its a wonderful game!

NB: Grim Fandango Remastered had a lot of idle time – like about 16 or 17 hrs – since the version of Idle Master I used at the time seemed to take ages to idle games (something to do with idling them concurrently, I think)

1 A Case of Distrust - achievements

Short, stylish noir gem. Dialogues are witty with a melancholic undertones (as they should be). Still, I was chuckling many times during my playthrough. I'd happily play the sequel, fingers crossed for it to happen :)

2 Aviary Attorney - screenshots

Point and click courtroom drama. Undoubtedly inspired by Ace Attorney, but there are a few caveats here. Firstly, it is set in days before February Revolution in France and secondly, the characters are anthropomorphic animals (derived from the works of XIX century french caricaturist). It was a pretty enjoyable experience as the setting is unique and I liked the characters and somewhat goofy jokes. It's a shame the game is so short and I don't think there's even a slightest chance for a sequel.

3 Hitman (2016) - achievements

There's no way around it - Hitman is a fantastic game. It's a proper sandbox, you have your mission and tools. Rest is up to you. I finished the game but I only scratched the surface. There are only a few levels (6?) but they're huge and are filled with different opportunities to carry out the assassinations. I'm really happy the series got back on its feet after mediocre Hitman: Absoluition.

4 Hard Reset Redux - achievements

Passable horde shooter with awful story and protagonist who REALLY likes to say 'f*ck'. I wouldn't recommend it, it's not on the level of, say, Serious Sam 1. Thankfully the devs made some better games like the Shadow Warrior titles.

5 Hiveswap Act 1 - achievements

As you probably now right now I like point n click adventures. I liked Hiveswap, but it's just one episode (I don't think it's even half of the game) so it's hard to recommend it to someone. Nevertheless I'll gladly play the second act (and hopefully more).

6 Titan Souls - achievements

I was running out of time so I was searching for a game I can finish in a few hours. I picked Titan Souls and I probably could have chosen something else. It's not a bad game per se, but it is tough and frustrating. You have bow with one arrow and you can dodge-roll out of the way of enemy attacks. One hit and you're dead. There's ~15 unique bosses to defeat and that's it. No story, just a pure challenging boss rush. I'm sure that many people will find this appealing.
