None of the DLC is necessary. Main game you get for $10 is worth the price of admission.

The DLC is largely a cruel joke, but you do not need to buy it.

Yeah I heard the DLC was totally not worth it, and in some cases made the game worse because you couldn't turn it off.

Season Pass adds those not-just-silly-clothes-or-weapons DLC.

And Bloodsucker is borderline cheat, since it gives another (quite-easy) way of regaining health.

True, but that doesn't mean that SR3 is any less fun. This game is a blast even if it's not on the same level as SR2. Well worth $10.
