Personally, I only use points on games I'm interested in.

I used to enter every possible giveaway I could enter with my points. But found good arguments for not doing it anymore, and now I only enter for games I really want to play. Wins got very rare since then, but why enter giveaways for games I will most likely never play? Just for a +1 for the collection?

only games I have interest in playing... I used to enter for +1s, cards, etc...
but now my account is poisoned with junk I won't play from old me.

some days I struggle to keep my points from capping out.

OT, I miss Golden Sun. Was always an advocate of Isaac making it to Smash.

I want a remaster on the switch.
for the original+lost age.
I am sure my save batteries in my carts are dead or near it now(speaking of I should check... and back up the code from the first game for use in lost age)

Just like many others I started entering any giveaway I could, but then you realize it's pointless so now I just join games I actually want to play, means I usually join 30 - 100 giveaways per month. Last time I won a giveaway was 6 months ago too.

Plus I once made the mistake of removing the games I won that I didn't want in my library, turns out they have to be in your library. So I had to get back over 50 games via steam support, one game at a time

I have plenty of points but limited time. It would also be inconsiderate towards the other entrants who would like to play it. So only the games that I know I will eventually play.

Only games I think are worth it and I'm interested in, and I'll eventually play. The "interest" was somewhat lazier in the beginning, but I never entered for games I didn't think were worth trying.

I only enter for games I'm actually going to play should I win them. A lot of people here like to say that they only enter for games that interest them but then actually end up not playing (or even starting) 90% of what they win.

only games I'd like to play or at least try because of existing interest in them. I don't see a point in entering a giveaway for a game you wouldn't play.

Most of the time, I am at 400 points.

So only games I am interested in and will play.

No point inflating my win counter if I don't intend to play the games. The lower your won/created ratio, the better in the community on various occasions anyway. I'm slow with my wins for personal reasons, but the intention is always there.

Only games I want, this is more fair and keeping games you won't even play is pretty useless

Just enter the ones, I will actually play and enjoy.

No point in reducing chances for others, especially since there must be people like me, who only enter for games they want.

And also I don't want games in my library that I will never play.

I mostly enter only games that looks interesting for me. But when giveaway has 50 copies or more - I enter everything.

Only wishlist games. I don't understand who enters every giveaway available on planet earth.

At first, I enter giveaways from my Wishlist.
If there's no games from my wishlist available, I check DLCs.
If no DLCs available, I just check available giveaways and enter those that somewhat interesting to me.

Only games that I want to play or games I don't know but I think that they can interest me (I discovered Sunset Overdrive like this, it was a good surprise, thanks again PainFoinmr!).

Long time ago, at my first years in this site, I entered in giveaways with 10 000 or plus copies of games that I would never play, just to have some wins as I felt sad to not win giveaways otherwise. But I still regret it to did this... 😓

If I am not interested in playing a game, I don't want it cluttering up my Steam account. I have no interest in Steam cards, leveling my Steam account, or anything like that, I just collect games I want to play. I won't even activate games that are given away for free if I am not interested in playing them. So, I only enter for games I am interested in playing, but that doesn't mean it will get played right away because I enjoy playing a lot of different games and have been buying bundles for over 10 years, so I have built up a massive backlog of games that I want to play. I prefer to look through my entire backlog of games and play whatever I am most in the mood to currently play to give myself the best chance of enjoying it. Sometimes I will win a game and play it right away and other times it may take many years before I get to it (the game I am playing now I won here over 7 years ago). If the giveaway creator requests that a game is played within a certain time period, I will not enter those giveaways unless I know for sure that I will play it right away, even if it is something I am very interested in. I don't like the pressure of having to play a game within someone elses time frame because I may just not be in the right mood and if I force myself to play it, I may not enjoy the game, but if I waited until I was in the right mood, I might have enjoyed it a lot.

At the start I used to enter all. Got a lot of "trash" cuz of it but made sure I played most of it.
Then had a phase where I only entered for games I actually wanted to play.
Now I hardly ever enter for anything at all, I really have little to no interest.
I mainly come to the site for sensualshakti's bundle threads. Much love to him/her for all the work that gets put into those.

yeah I find the bundles and deals threads really good, with a single look you have lot of good infos about the games you could find there

I only enter stuff that looks good or interesting, with the intent to check them out - not necessarily the reality. Definitely not entering everything, lol.

I used to enter for games I am interested in when my library was smaller, now I enter every giveaway from group "old key, might delete" and DLC's I don't own. Usually, I create something in return for others when I win.
