the vast majority will tell that they only enter the games they plan to play, but there is the discourse and the backlogs. I remember the statistics that AtomicBlonde sent, his gifted games were unplayed for 90% of them

Only the ones I want to play. I also usually come back to give a feedback when I play, except for a few cases.

My points basically always cap out since I don't enter anything I wouldn't realistically play.

When I first joined SG, I used to enter for games that looked good and that I thought I'd play "at some point". I realized, over time, as my backlog spiraled out of control from wins, freebies and bundle purchases, that that point will never come in many cases. So, I've learned to be more selective; If my backlog has too many (better) games from the same genre or if I have doubts about a game or don't think that I can play it in a reasonable timeframe, I'll skip it. My points are maxed out at 400 most of the time.

I typically enter less than 250 giveaways a month but I'm fortunate to be in groups that offer good winning chances so my current average is 2-4 wins/month which is a pace that I can keep up with.

I have a practice if I can keep up of just "Burning points", if they are at 400P I check first page and enter giveaways for stuff that is not trash or if not Wishlist and enter the ones ending last/least entries. I can always check entered giveaways and remove entries if they have high triple or four digits at all.

Longer I'm here and bigger my Steam Library grows, the more selective I become. Currently any new game I spot in a GA almost immediately goes either to my Steam wishlist or on SteamGifts ignored list.

Do I actually also buy games from my wishlist? Yes, I do any of them (though as always very cheaply), when I find them at 97% or more off on one of more dependable gray sites.

When I was new I was easier on what I joined, everything that looked remotely doable I joined and also regret that, pretty fast after that I got more picky since games I won't think I will enjoy are a waste to have, still have a few wins I wish I didn't join but well, sometimes a game looks great on paper but in reality it's not what you expected, but joining games I know I won't enjoy sounds so selfish, rather have someone else enjoy it! (sadly there are still to many people that just join to waste points and don't care for the game itself but not much you can do about that...)

Depends
on normal: "Only games I want to play" = games I interested or i want check them out
Now: "no entry till I complete all my wins" 7 games left (one almost complete)

When a new bundle appear (Humble Bundle, Fanatical), quickly check all games in the bundle, and add the ones that interested me into whitelist.

And on steamgifts only enter games in my whitelist.

Only games I want to play and I can convince myself that the odds of me taking the win from someone who'd enjoy it more than me are extremely slim. So if it's a Whitelist / Group Focused On Playing giveaway I often don't enter even for games I'm interested in...

I only enter for games that I genuinely want to try out. What's the point in entering for stuff you don't want to play. I hide all trash, horror games, hentai games, and maybe some other genres too.

And honestly, I have played some wins 2 years after winning. I'll get around to them all eventually.

I used to, when i was new, and dumb. But not anymore, i've got enough garbage in my account, no need to add any more.

I rather play a game that I win from a giveaway than win every game possible and likely not play them.
