Usually during event sales, they will PM Steam. IE during Summer Sale you could get almost anything that was a daily deal on Steam for the same price on Amazon, sometimes even slightly cheaper.

For the last month or so, Amazon's sales on whole have been piss poor in the PC Downloads respect. Their rep does not post anywhere he used to anymore. It seems likely that they've done away with providing regular sales on downloads, at least thats what it feels like for the last 6 weeks or so.
